Good Victims
As of 2023, over nine million Colombians have secured official recognition as victims of an armed conflict that has lasted decades. The category of "victim" is not a mere description of having suffered harm, but a political status and a potential site of power. In Good Victims, Roxani Krystalli investigates the politics of victimhood as a feminist question. Based on in-depth engagement in Colombia over the course of a decade, Krystalli argues for the possibilities of politics through, rather than in opposition to, the status of "victim." Encompassing acts of care, agency, and haunting, the politics of victimhood entangle people who identify as victims, researchers, and transitional justice professionals. Krystalli shows how victimhood becomes a pillar of reimagining the state in the wake of war, and of bringing a vision of that state into being through bureaucratic encounters. Good Victims also sheds light on the ethical and methodological dilemmas that arise when contemplating the legacies of transitional justice mechanisms.
Subjetividades caleidoscópicas relatos y espejos trizados
El presente libro da cuenta de una investigación en la que las autoras se interrogan por las modalidades de constitución de las subjetividades que tuvieron lugar en el contexto de prácticas de cultura política en América Latina a partir de 1960, en las cuales la violencia política fue uno de sus componentes fundamentales. Para ello, se apoyan en un corpus basado en las narrativas testimoniales elaboradas por sujetos que estuvieron involucrados en organizaciones de izquierda o en cercanía con ellas y que fueron víctimas de la violencia estatal en Chile, Argentina y Colombia entre 1970 y 1990. Es en estas décadas que los casos de los tres países se asemejan y que, sin lugar a dudas, la comparación de Chile y Argentina con Colombia se muestra válida, puesto que comparten un contexto político y social que les es común a varios países de América Latina en el marco de lo que fue conocido como la Guerra Fría, y el surgimiento de movimientos insurgentes de carácter armado y de la violencia política estatal.
Bitácora para la Cátedra de la Paz
Con el fin de consolidar un escenario propicio para abordar pedagógicamente las prácticas, reflexiones y perspectivas en torno a la materialización del derecho consagrado que tiene la sociedad colombiana a la paz, la Universidad Pedagógica Nacional (UPN) entrega este primer volumen de ensayos producto de la cátedra pública: "Formación de maestros y educadores para una Colombia en paz”, con un particular énfasis referenciado en el lugar que tiene la educación en la formación ético-política de maestros y educadores afectados por la violencia política. La Cátedra de la Paz hace parte del eje estratégico del Plan de Desarrollo Institucional “Construcción de paz con justicia y democracia”, al cual se le suma el propósito de materializar los mandatos constitucionales de prevención, protección y garantía de derechos en torno a la Constitución Política: artículo 221, la Ley 1448 de 2011 y la Ley 1732 de 2014.

The Palgrave Handbook of State-Sponsored History After 1945
This handbook provides the first systematic integrated analysis of the role that states or state actors play in the construction of history and public memory after 1945. The book focuses on many different forms of state-sponsored history, including memory laws, monuments and memorials, state-archives, science policies, history in schools, truth commissions, historical expert commissions, the use of history in courts and tribunals etc. The handbook contributes to the study of history and public memory by combining elements of state-focused research in separate fields of study. By looking at the state’s memorialising capacities the book introduces an analytical perspective that is not often found in classical studies of the state. The handbook has a broad geographical focus and analyses cases from different regions around the world. The volume mainly tackles democratic contexts, although dictatorial regimes are not excluded.
