Functional and Constraint Logic Programming
This book constitutes the refereed post-conference proceedings of the 28th International Workshop on Functional and Constraint Logic Programming, WFLP 2020, held in Bologna, Italy, in September 2020. Due to the COVID-19, the workshop was held online. From the 19 full papers submitted, 8 were accepted for presentation at the workshop. The accepted papers cover different programming areas of functional and logic programming, including code generation, verification, and debugging.
Formal Methods – Fun for Everybody
This volume constitutes the post-workshop proceedings of the First International Workshop on Formal Methods – Fun for Everybody, FMFun 2019, held in Bergen, Norway, in December 2019. The 7 revised full papers and 2 revised short papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 15 submissions. A white paper and two keynote papers are also included. The papers explore ways of utilizing the pathway to transforming and spreading formal methods. The vision of this workshop series is that formal methods ought to be taught in such a way that every student can have fun with it.
Moving Bodies
Increasingly we have come to live in our heads, leaving our bodies behind. The consequences have been far-reaching, of which cognitive theory has warned us, advocating a 'return to the body.' This book employs several case studies-kings performing in ballets, sea captains dancing with natives, nationalists engaged in gymnastics exercises-to demonstrate what has been lost and what could be gained by a more embodied approach to living, to history. These curious movements were ways to be, to think, to know, to imagine, and to will. They highlight the limits of historical explanations focusing on cultural factors and question currently fashionable 'cultural' and 'post-modern' perspectives. Bodies, cognitive theory tells us, are the same regardless of historical context, and they engage in the same intentional activities. Returning to our bodies and their movements enables us not only to explain historical actions anew, but also to understand ourselves better.
