New Relativity in the Gravitational Universe

Our vast Universe is filled with an enormous amount of matter and energy, which are the source of large gravitational potentials affecting all physical phenomena. Because this fact about the size and contents of the Universe was not known when our fundamental theories of dynamics and relativity were completed by the 1920s, the current theories - based as they are in empty space - fail to incorporate cosmic gravity. Though the current theories are consistent with the majority of empirical facts, there are some crucial discrepancies, which demand a drastic shift to a cosmic gravitational paradigm for the theories of relativity and dynamics. The book is a detailed and widely accessible account of this paradigm, called Cosmic Relativity, supported by ample empirical evidence. It is established that all motional relativistic effects are cosmic gravitational effects. The new theory of Cosmic Relativity solves and answers all outstanding questions and puzzles about dynamics and relativity.

Between the Earth and the Sky

Between the Earth and the Sky

In the forest, the earth and sky do not meet; the notion of 'horizon' doesn't exist. Forests have been cleared to open new horizons but this has often been responsible for the destruction of the living world within. Between the Earth and the Sky brings together forest writings that cover history, anthropology, wildlife, ecological and environmental studies, literature and travel, throwing light on different aspects of the forest. While Jim Corbett sees the forest as a hunter and Prakash Moorthy weaves a tale about poaching in Kerala, Visvajit Pandya writes about the Ongees of Little Andaman. Guru Nanak celebrates the seasons in his Bara Maha and Sri Aurobindo celebrates the forest as the 'Infinite Mother' in Savitri, while Verrier Elwin and Ruskin Bond celebrate the intimacy man shares with nature. The Yaksha Prashna from the Mahabharata and Ramchandra Gandhi's Sita's Kitchen explore the forest as a space for discourse even as Gilgamesh, one of the earliest conquerors of the forest, stands in sharp contrast with its caretakers like Kotgudin and Billy Biswas.

Coatings

This book presents recent developments in the coating processes, sub processes and emphasizes on processes with the potential to improve performance quality and reproducibility. The book demonstrates how application methods, environmental factors, and chemical interactions affect each surface coating's performance. In addition, it provides analysis of latest polymers, carbon resins, high-temperature materials used for coatings and describes the development, chemical and physical properties, synthesis, polymerization, commercial uses and characteristics for each raw material and coating. Characterization techniques to solve the coating problems are also presented, as well as optimization studies to identify the critical coating parameters to ensure a robust process.

Structured Foods is an important reference that discusses the recent research trends on structural development in various foods. This book covers different tools and food engineering techniques such as encapsulation, 3D and 4D printing, imaging techniques, and clean meat technology. It discusses how various foods can be broken down and manipulated at the molecular level to improve their quality, safety, and healthfulness. It describes the structuring of components like starch, proteins, and polysaccharides and the stability and bioavailability of different food structures. This is a useful reference for researchers and industry experts in food technology, food engineering, and food processin...
