Food consumption is leaning toward products that provide both nutritional value and good flavor. In recent years, researchers have focused on how to scientifically analyze and evaluate foods’ nutritional and flavor qualities under different processing methods or parameters by various effect relationship analysis tools to investigate the internal relations between nutrients and flavor substances. However, during food processing, some unstable components may undergo degradation, volatilization, or secondary reactions due to changes in temperature, pressure, humidity, pH, etc., resulting in challenging research work with complex data variations in multiple dimensions.

In addition, education per se is constantly changing, and redefining and modifying learning and teaching environments are an ongoing process. For example, modern educational psychology, including positive psychology movements emphasizing collaborative knowledge creation, calls teachers to facilitate their students’ learning and wellbeing and to create a positive learning environment instead of using traditional frontal teaching and other teacher-centered methods. Digital revolution has challenged teachers to adapt new educational settings and to update their pedagogical approaches into more use of digital solutions. In the early 21st century, research and development of sustainable energy harvesting (EH) technologies have started. Since then, many EH technologies have evolved, advanced and even been successfully developed into hardware prototypes for sustaining the operational lifetime of low?power electronic devices like mobile gadgets, smart wireless sensor networks, etc. Energy harvesting is a technology that harvests freely available renewable energy from the ambient environment to recharge or put used energy back into the energy storage devices without the hassle of disrupting or even discontinuing the normal operation of the specific application. With the prior knowledge and experience developed over a decade ago, progress of sustainable EH technologies research is still intact and ongoing. EH technologies are starting to mature and strong synergies are formulating with dedicate application areas. To move forward, now would be a good time to setup a review and brainstorm session to evaluate the past, investigate and think through the present and understand and plan for the future sustainable energy harvesting technologies.
