Bombs over Biscay, Barcelona and Dresden (1937-1945)
Sometimes tragedies that have little to distinguish them from a wide range of similar events and which can make no claim to record numbers of casualties or destructive impact go down in history as fundamental and emblematic. This is the case of two of the airstrikes discussed in this volume: Barcelona and Dresden. Other tragedies, however, are sometimes obscured by circumstances elsewhere. This is the case of the “other Guernicas”: that is to say, the bombings of Otxandio, Durango and Elorrio in Biscay. They are good examples not only of the brutality inherent in all wars and of how methods of combat become increasingly barbaric as conflicts wear on but also of the way in which some circumstances push events to the forefront of history and make them emblematic.

Historia de la sociabilidad contemporánea
Entre los historiadores existe un cierto consenso en que la sociabilidad no debe ser una nueva historia sectorial, sino un elemento más de carácter interdisciplinar que permita un mejor conocimiento de la realidad histórica, de la historia total o social. Este libro colectivo se organiza de modo cronológico y combina reflexiones de ámbito catalán, español y europeo sin renunciar a la perspectiva comparada. Partiendo de un balance historiográfico, las diversas contribuciones tratan cuestiones como las sociedades patrióticas de inicios del siglo XIX, el sindicalismo, las redes de sociabilidad Republicana en los siglos XIX-XX o la importancia de las casas del pueblo en el socialismo español. El volumen termina con una visión de las sociabilidades en la época del posfordismo, marcada por las continuidades y rupturas congruentes con el capitalismo neoliberal.

També s’hi presenta l’experiència en comú entre els participants, a partir de pràctiques i experiències compartides, estratègies d’èxit a l’hora d’implicar diferents actors de l’àmbit local en la implementació de projectes de memòria. La guerra del Francès (1808–1814) no és un fenomen aïllat del procés històric: té unes arrels i unes conseqüències, i per aquest motiu cal inserir-la en el marc de la crisi de l'antic règim i de la revolució liberal, que abasta el darrer terç del segle XVIII i la primera meitat del segle XIX. Tot i que la guerra del Francès no és l'inici ni el final de res, és un moment clau de trencament entre el vell i el nou règim. Aquest llibre pretén ser una anàlisi polièdrica d'aquest complex fenomen que anomenem guerra del Francès.
