Raiders of the Sarhad
This work presents the story of R.E.H Dyer's small campaign with the Sarhad Raiders in 1916 and photographs taken by various officers during the campaign. R. E. H. Dyer was an officer of the Bengal Army and later the newly constituted British Indian Army. His military career started serving briefly in the regular British Army before transferring to serve with the Presidency armies of India. The book includes photographs taken by various officers during the campaign. The Butcher of Amritsar
On 13 April 1919, General Reginald Dyer marched a squad of Indian soldiers into the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, and opened fire without warning on a crowd gathered to hear political speeches. This is an account of the massacre set in the context of a biography of a man whose attitudes reflected many of the views common in the Raj.
Mind's Eye
