ISSUES RELATED TO WOMEN: ESSAYS IN ECONOMETRICS AND STATISTICS
In the world, many women are at risk of being exposed to economic, physical, sexual, psychological, and emotional violence, or even intentional homicide. They might also be exposed to discrimination based on their socio-demographic characteristics, such as their ethnic background, religion, and educational level. The purpose of this book is to bring together academics and researchers working in the fields of applied econometrics and applied statistics as they pertain to women’s issues. The twelve-chapter book includes insights on present econometric and statistical methodologies on women’s issues, as well as a better understanding and evaluation of contemporary policy implications, initiatives, and procedures pertaining to women.
Econometrics and Applied Economic Analyses in the Context of Health
Health is one of the most crucial parts of our lives. To a great degree, factors such as living conditions, income, education, age, or even relations with our environment, health-related policies and access to health services might have a potential impact on health-related outcomes. Therefore, it is important to evaluate to what extent our health is affected by such factors using econometric and quantitative techniques. The application of such methods within the scope of health-related problems provides a more robust approach to individuals along with policymakers and increases the efficiency of government policies. This book gathers selected studies addressing both quantitative economic and econometric applications within the scope of health with the intention of aiming at the graduate and post-graduate students, researchers and academics of econometrics, economics and related social sciences. The book consists of ten chapters. The last chapter is a special chapter allocated to “Young Researchers” in order to support and encourage their studies.
Current Debates in Economics & Econometrics
As the outcome of the sixth international congress, the papers in this volume cover a wide range of topics related to the main theme of the conference, titled “Current Debates in Social Sciences”, and basically focus on economics and econometrics. Even though most of the papers deal with the empirical analysis, there are also studies on economic debate. In this context, the articles in the book draw attention to the different aspects of economics and econometrics such as behavioural economics, exchange rate, export and import relations in Turkey, electricity consumption and growth relations, game theory, health status of females ,impact of the Chinese economy on Turkish economy. We believe that these studies would contribute to the development of debates in social sciences and encourage interdisciplinary approaches.
