La metáfora del cristal en las artes y en la arquitectura
Los cristales, en su crecimiento, se asemejan a los seres biológicos más elementales, como si tendieran un puente entre el mundo mineral y la materia viviente. El resplandor de la belleza que destila su cristalización es el germen de una idea estética transfigurada en metáfora artística que, desde el romanticismo hasta nuestros días, ha fascinado a numerosos escritores, a filósofos y, todavía más, a artistas y arquitectos. Éste es el hilo conductor de la presente narración que se despliega paralelamente en la estética, la pintura y el proyecto, y que se plasma en la síntesis entre la geometría y la proyección sentimental, la figuración cuboexpresionista, la floración de las arquitecturas cristalinas y sus tipologías en las «casas populares» y los rascacielos.
