This reference book originates from the interdisciplinary research cooperation between academia and industry. In three distinct parts, latest results from basic research on stable enzymes are explained and brought into context with possible industrial applications. Downstream processing technology as well as biocatalytic and biotechnological production processes from global players display the enormous potential of biocatalysts. Application of "extreme" reaction conditions (i.e. unconventional, such as high temperature, pressure, and pH value) - biocatalysts are normally used within a well defined process window - leads to novel synthetic effects. Both novel enzyme systems and the synthetic routes in which they can be applied are made accessible to the reader. In addition, the complementary innovative process technology under unconventional conditions is highlighted by latest examples from biotech industry.
This book is a collection of studies about forms of address in the world’s languages, with a focus on contrast and difference. The individual chapters highlight inter- and intralinguistic variation in the expression of address and its sociol-cultural functions across media, registers, geographical contexts and time – in more than 15 languages. The volume showcases the variety of approaches that exists in current address research, including the breadth of contrastive methodologies harnessing surveys and questionnaires, focus group discussions, corpus linguistics, discourse and conversation analysis to offer complementary perspectives on culture-specific address practice. This volume is for students and researchers of address and social interaction in a range of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, including various sub-disciplines of linguistics (such as contrastive, variational and intercultural pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and morphology) and intercultural communication, as well as experts in individual languages and qualitative sociologists.
Based on lectures given at an advanced course on integrable systems at the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica in Barcelona, these lecture notes address three major aspects of integrable systems: obstructions to integrability from differential Galois theory; the description of singularities of integrable systems on the basis of their relation to bi-Hamiltonian systems; and the generalization of integrable systems to the non-Hamiltonian settings. All three sections were written by top experts in their respective fields. Native to actual problem-solving challenges in mechanics, the topic of integrable systems is currently at the crossroads of several disciplines in pure and applied mathematics, and also has important interactions with physics. The study of integrable systems also actively employs methods from differential geometry. Moreover, it is extremely important in symplectic geometry and Hamiltonian dynamics, and has strong correlations with mathematical physics, Lie theory and algebraic geometry (including mirror symmetry). As such, the book will appeal to experts with a wide range of backgrounds.
Lie theory is a mathematical framework for encoding the concept of symmetries of a problem, and was the central theme of an INdAM intensive research period at the Centro de Giorgi in Pisa, Italy, in the academic year 2014-2015. This book gathers the key outcomes of this period, addressing topics such as: structure and representation theory of vertex algebras, Lie algebras and superalgebras, as well as hyperplane arrangements with different approaches, ranging from geometry and topology to combinatorics.
This book examines political humor as a reaction to the lost war, the post-war chaos, and antisemitic violence in Hungary between 1918 and 1922. While there is an increased body of literature on Jewish humor as a form of resistance and a means of resilience during the Holocaust, only a handful of studies have addressed Jewish humor as a reaction to physical attacks and increased discrimination in Europe during and after the First World War. The majority of studies have approached the issue of Jewish humor from an anthropological, cultural, or linguistic perspective; they have been interested in the humor of lower- or lower-middle-class Jews in the East European shtetles before 1914. On the o...
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Advances in Computational Collective Intelligence, ICCCI 2023, held in Budapest, Hungary, during September 27–29, 2023. The 59 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 218 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: Collective Intelligence and Collective Decision-Making, Deep Learning Techniques, Natural Language Processing, Data Minning and Machine learning, Social Networks and Speek Communication, Cybersecurity and Internet of Things, Cooperative Strategies for Decision Making and Optimization, Digital Content Understanding and Apllication for Industry 4.0 and Computational Intelligence in Medical Applications.
Of the five senses, smell is the most direct and food aromas are the key drivers of our flavor experience. They are crucial for the synergy of food and drinks. Up to 80% of what we call taste is actually aroma. Food Aroma Evolution: During Food Processing, Cooking, and Aging focuses on the description of the aroma evolution in several food matrices. Not only cooking, but also processing (such as fermentation) and aging are responsible for food aroma evolution. A comprehensive evaluation of foods requires that analytical techniques keep pace with the available technology. As a result, a major objective in the chemistry of food aroma is concerned with the application and continual development ...

Charles Handy menedzsmentguru A második görbe című könyvében bepillantást enged a jövőbe.
