Along with the convenience and improvements promised by these “smart cities,” however, comes a new set of challenges. How literate are citizens and governments in smart technologies? Do we understand our data rights and what data is being collected and when? And how can these smart cities be set up to emphasize the needs of citizens and with the means to defend against and recover from threats? Smart City Cyber Resilience sets out to answer those questions, putting human capit...

"Essential reading to understand why and how Vietnam's political elite-forged by revolution, war, and Marxist ideology-altered their thinking and policies to make the dramatic shift to a market economy. An important book."--Richard A. Hunt, author of Pacification: The American Struggle for Vietnam1s Hearts and Minds "Changing Worlds is a profound and eloquently written account of changes in Vietnamese elite thinking that led them to abandon communist ideology and 'take the plunge' into the currents of globalization. This work is enhanced by Elliott's command of Vietnamese sources."

Utilizing firm-level data during 2010-2015, we examine the frequency and characteristics of multi-product firms in Vietnamese manufacturing. Our major findings are as follows. First, multi-product firms are larger, more capital-intensive, more productive, and are more likely to export. Second, multi-product firms are active in the market. Approximately 60% of firms adjust their product scope within a 6-year period. Third, the contribution of firms' product extensive margin to aggregate output growth is limited due to the prevalence of product dropping, which offsets the positive impact of product adding. This book includes fourteen chapters on photocatalysis. It provides a thorough overview of the latest research on photocatalysts and examines recent trends in the field. Chapters address such topics as metal-organic frameworks, semiconductors, self–cleaning coatings and surfaces, the use of “green” agents to fabricate materials, fabrication of advanced nanocomposites for the production of hydrogen, bifunctional catalysts for metal-air batteries, and much more.
This book examines driving factors and the effects of globalisation on economic development through firm and product-level data. The book is organised into four themes, i.e., productivity, innovation, wage and income gap, and within-firm reallocation of resources. The comprehensiveness and richness of firm and product-level data shed light upon the channels through which trade and investment affect firms’ competitiveness and unveil factors shaping firms’ heterogeneous responses towards globalisation. The book looks at Asian economies as well as Australia and how they have experienced substantial structural change and become more integrated into the global economy and will be a useful reference for those who are interested in learning more about the relationship between globalisation and firm performance. This book will appeal to policy makers and researchers interested in the impact of globalisation on firm performance.
