This collection provides a slice of history of Australian (particularly Melbourne) theatre from the late 1960s to 2008. Features of the collection are the scripts (some rare) and Tim Robertson's notebooks spanning 36 years to 2008. The notebooks contain diary-type entries, drafts of plays, personal thoughts and also much material on what would become 'Manning Clark's History of Australia, the musical'. Other notable content is the audio-visual material, including oral history interviews of former Australian Performing Group actors and photographs. Included in the papers are documents relating to the Australian Performing Group and the Pram Factory used by Tim Robertson for his publication 'The pram factory: The Australian Performing Group Recollected' (Carlton, Vic., Melbourne University Press, 2001). There is some correspondence to and from John Timlin, Tim Robertson's agent.
