Restenosis remains the Achilles heel of Percutaneous Coronary Interventions. Numerous pharmacological agents have been tested in order to reduce acute thrombosis and the hyperproliferative cellular response, and drug eluting stents-using the stent as a platform for local drug delivery-are now considered a significant breakthrough in interventional cardiology. Pioneers in the field, the editors of Local Drug Delivery for Coronary Artery Disease have assembled an excellent team of contributors who offer their experience with threatened vessel closure and restenosis, acute thrombosis, hyperproliferative cellular response, stents and local drug delivery. They share their expertise on all aspects of the field, including a discussion of results from preclinical and clinical studies, and they examine alternative methods of molecular delivery to the vessel wall. With coverage of the most current methods and applications, as well as a host of photographs illustrating their implementation, this book will serve as an excellent reference for cardiologists, pharmacologists, cardiac surgeons, and trainees.

Management on Complicated Ocular Trauma

This book is aimed at illustrating the common complicated ocular trauma with typical signs, examinations, surgical procedures and conservative management to clinical practitioners including the nurses, medical students, residents, fellows and ophthalmologists, and help them make the most appropriate decision on the diagnosis and management of such patients. There are 23 chapters introduced in the book, which covers all types of complicated ocular trauma with brief case reports combined with the most comprehensive pictures. For each disease, a brief introduction, explanation as well as management are offered to the readers. With the illustrative figures and explanations, the goal of making the right diagnose, offering the best advice or treatment to the patients, and understanding surgical procedures would be easily achieved. This book is useful for readers to be fully prepared for the challenge of complicated ocular traumatic cases. This is the fifth volume of the book series Ocular Trauma.

While all interventional cardiologists have access to pharmacopeial texts and databases and are aware of the growing number of pharmacological agents in the armamentarium, questions arise as to the ideal agent or combination of agents in differing patient situations. This superb text offers the reader coverage of all the major pharmacological t

Market Economics and Political Change

Does market liberalization promote democracy? The accepted answer from scholars, pundits, and politicians alike has been yes. However, the contributors to this innovative study of market reforms and political change in Mexico and the People's Republic of China argue that this easy equation is not only empirically uncertain but methodologically flawed. Using comparative contextual analysis, the contributors carefully identify the elective affinities between these two very different polities to reveal key variables that determine how markets will affect democracy, particularly law as the 'rudder of democracy' and the role of political culture in civil society.

Foreign-Related Arbitration in China

  • Categories: Law

This overview and analysis of current arbitration law and practice in mainland China offers critical analysis of significant Chinese arbitration law materials and key cases decided by the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It also provides the full texts of around two hundred decisions of the Supreme People's Court of the PRC dating from 1990 to 2013, with enclosures of lower People's Courts' decisions presented in a systematic fashion. The analysis not only highlights the importance of the materials, judicial interpretations and key cases, but also enables readers to read mainland Chinese statutes, judiciary interpretations and cases independently and confidently.

The two-volume set, LNICST 453 and 454 constitutes the proceedings of the 8th EAI International Conference on e-Learning, e-Education, and Online Training, eLEOT 2022, held in Harbin, China, in July 2022. The 111 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 226 submissions. This conference has brought researchers, developers and practitioners around the world who are leveraging and developing e-educational technologies as well as related learning, training, and practice methods. The theme of eLEOT 2022 was “New Trend of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Education”. They were organized in topical sections as follows: IT promoted Teaching Platforms and Systems; AI based Educational Modes and Methods; Automatic Educational Resource Processing; Educational Information Evaluation.

Multiple Approaches to Inhibit Restenosis After Percutaneous Coronary Interventions

This is a Ph.D. dissertation. Restenosis occurs in 10-50% of patients after PCI, thus remaining a major challenge. Restenosis after PCI is a complex, multifactorial, overlapping wound healing process involving a cascade of cellular and molecular events including platelet activation, inflammatory cell infiltration, smooth muscle cell proliferation, migration and extracellular matrix production. Recent evidence shows that inflammation, matrix metalloproteinases and free oxygen radicals all play a critical role in the restenosis process. Different approaches to prevent restenosis after PCI were studied in this work. Restenosis has been remarkably reduced in the last decade with the introduction...
