Abstract: Signal transduction via phosphorylated CheY towards the flagellum and the archaellum involves a conserved mechanism of CheY phosphorylation and subsequent conformational changes within CheY. This mechanism is conserved among bacteria and archaea, despite substantial differences in the composition and architecture of archaellum and flagellum, respectively. Phosphorylated CheY has higher affinity towards the bacterial C-ring and its binding leads to conformational changes in the flagellar motor and subsequent rotational switching of the flagellum. In archaea, the adaptor protein CheF resides at the cytoplasmic face of the archaeal C-ring formed by the proteins ArlCDE and interacts wi...

International Securities Markets

This book offers the first detailed analysis of Chinaand’s insider trading law, explaining what constitutes insider trading in China and what the consequences of unlawful insider trading might be there. More importantly, it suggests ways in which the law might more effectively prevent the occurrence of insider trading in the first place. Among the elements of the legal framework addressed by the author are the following: and• Who benefits from insider trading and• The issue of when information becomes public and• A comparative law treatment of the underlying theories of insider trading liability and• Private civil liability and• Damage caps and• Measures of recovery The authorand’s approach focuses on Chinaand’s readiness to adopt foreign ideas without adequately assimilating them into the local context. In this connection, he sets out valuable reform proposals, using authority from field interviews with Chinese stakeholders as well as from comparative case law.

As China's government manages a transition away from the socialist plan, how does it build the regulatory institutions it needs to manage the new market economy? Without the correct institutions, laws and agencies that implement the laws in place, the remarkable growth witnessed in China over the last two decades will falter. Financial sector reform lies at the heart of China's economic transition and China's stock market has become critical to the reform of state-owned industry, the supply of fiscal revenues and in building a modern pension system. The Development of China's Stockmarket takes a close look at the policy-making and regulatory institutions the government has created to manage ...
