Yüzyıllardan beri açıklanmaya çalışılan mutluluk kavramı zaman içinde psikoloji başta olmak üzere sosyoloji ve toplum bilimleri gibi birçok alanda irdelenmiş ve zamanla “Mutluluk Ekonomisi” başlığı altında iktisat biliminin de tartışma alanları içerisinde yerini almıştır.
