A significant challenge has arisen as the way people interact with their environments undergoes significant changes, requiring crucial adjustments to existing environments, design methods, and educational systems. The relationship between these elements forms the backdrop for a complex challenge faced by academic scholars and design professionals alike. As the backbone of design education, design studios operate as microcosms, each with their unique interpretation of ongoing changes and distinctive approaches to solving real-world problems. This evolving landscape prompts a pivotal question: How can the varied pedagogies within design education be curated and explored to foster a more compre...
This book addresses complex problems associated with crop improvement programs, using a wide range of programming solutions, for genomics data handling and sustainable agriculture. It describes important concepts in genomics data analysis and sequence-based mapping approaches along with references. The book contains 16 chapters on recent developments in several methods of genomic data analysis for crop improvements and sustainable agriculture, all authored by eminent researchers who are experts in their fields. These chapters focus on applications of a wide range of key bioinformatics topics, including assembly, annotation, and visualization of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data; expressi...
This book is the first comprehensive compilation of the most up-to-date research in the genomics, transcriptomics, and breeding of pine species across Europe, North America, and Australia. With chapters on the state of the reference genomes, transposon function, genome-wide diversity, functional genomics, genomics of disease resistance, genomics of abiotic stress, and genomic selection, this book is a must-read for scientists, breeders, and students of plant genomics. The book contains 12 chapters over 300 pages authored by a group of world-renowned scientists in the field of pine genomics. Pines (Pinus) are the world’s most economically important forest tree species. The recent genome sequencing of several important pine species has paved the way for understanding their complex biology and helps future management and breeding efforts.
Vols. for 1963- include as pt. 2 of the Jan. issue: Medical subject headings.
Recent Advances in Analytical Techniques is a series of updates in techniques used in chemical analysis. Each volume presents a selection of chapters that explain different analytical techniques and their use in applied research. Readers will find updated information about developments in analytical methods such as chromatography, electrochemistry, optical sensor arrays for pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis. The fifth volume of the series features five reviews which demonstrate chemical analysis techniques applied in different disciplines. - Superior Aspects of Liquid Chromatography-Based Mass Spectrometers in Chiral Analysis - New Trends in Sample Preparation for Pharmaceutical and Biological Analysis by Chromatographic Methods - Qualitative and Quantitative Investigation of Bio Tissues using Microscopy and Data Mining - Analytical Techniques For Analysis of Metals and Minerals in The Soil Samples - Monitoring Therapeutic Response in Cancers: A Raman Spectroscopy Approach
Recent advances in development of sequencing technology has resulted in a deluge of genomic data. In order to make sense of this data, there is an urgent need for algorithms for data processing and quantitative reasoning. An emerging in silico approach, called computational genomic signatures, addresses this need by representing global species-specific features of genomes using simple mathematical models. This text introduces the general concept of computational genomic signatures, and it reviews some of the DNA sequence models which can be used as computational genomic signatures. The text takes the position that a practical computational genomic signature consists of both a model and a mea...
