The July 1936 coup d'tat against the Spanish Second Republic brought together a diversity of anti-Republican political and social groups under the leadership of rebel Africanista military officers. European Holocaust Studies (EHS) publishes key international research results on the murder of the European Jews and its wider contexts. El falangismo fue el experimento más exitoso del fascismo español, pero también representó una ideología y un movimiento político con aspiraciones fuera de sus fronteras. En los estados independientes que habían formado parte del Imperio español, o en los lugares donde se concentraba la población emigrante española, el falangismo organizó estructuras y células para participar desde ultramar en la revolución nacional-sindicalista primero y en el esfuerzo de guerra de los sublevados en 1936 después.
