Por ello, en un esfuerzo global sin precedentes, se buscan, incansablemente, soluciones al respecto; entre ellas la divulgación organizada del conocimiento sobre el envejecimiento humano generado bajo el rigor científico. No es secreto que la información surgida desde la gerontología y para la gerontología no se difunde de manera adecuada, en especial el conocimiento dirigido a la formación de gerontólogos(as) y a su aplicación basada en la evidencia científica. Estas razones nos motivaron a escribir esta obra sobre el conocimiento gerontológico. Así pues, tiene la intención de convertirse en la guía práctica más confiable para los gerontólogos(as) de nuestro país y de Latinoamérica.
