A collection of correspondence among the Wilcox family of West Granby, Connecticut. The first portion contains letters between Howard Wilcox and his wife, Janette. Anna M. Wilcox, the second wife of Howard Wilcox, wrote to her stepdaughter, Henrietta, comprise the second portion. Additionally, the second portion contains letters from Harry and Roy to their sister, Henrietta, and their brother, Elbert. Finally, the third section contains a letter written by Anna Wilcox to her stepson, Henry. She wrote describing the wedding of Henrietta to George S. Lampson. The letters have all be transcribed.

This first volume of Mr. Maher's four-volume work indexes 38,000 death notices and 14,000 marriage notices. The extensive notices refer to people up and down the East Coast as well as to midwesterners and persons from as far west as the State of California.
Richard Webb was born at Bearly, Warwickshire, England, in 1580. He immigrated to America ca. 1626 and lived at Cambridge and Braintree, Massachusetts, and Norwalk, Connecticut. He died in in Norwalk in 1656. Descendants lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and elsewhere.
