This book is the result of and a back lash from my first efforts in doing a family genealogy, 'Adcock kinfolks -- families and ancestors' (a great deal of it being used in this book). It is a collection of the direct blood line of my granddaughter, Jennifer Adcock Whitney.
John Adcock, of Scottish-Irish descent, emigrated from England in the early 1700s and settled in Buckingham County, Virginia. His grandson, Joel J. Adcock (1792-1884), son of Joseph Adcock, a Revolutionary War soldier, and Susan Cason Adcock. He married Elizabeth Childres (1873-1873) in 1820. They had eleven children, 1823-ca. 1837. The family migrated to Calloway County, Missouri, in 1830. Descendants listed lived in Missouri, Illinois, California, and elsewhere.
Announcements for the following year included in some vols.
