Stop Eating Your Emotions will help you make peace with your body and transform your relationship with food to rediscover the pleasure of eating without guilt or anxiety. Equipped with vast experience supporting people who binge-eat or experience episodes of compulsive eating, Huot and Senécal have developed exercises, tips and tools that are sensible and practical, and that work! Dictionary of French Family Names in North America

This dictionary contains data not only on the origins of French surnames in Québec and Acadia, a great many of which eventually spread to many parts of North America, but also on those which arrived in the United States directly from various French-speaking European and Caribbean countries. In addition to providing the etymology of the original surnames, it also lists the multifarious variants that have developed over the last four centuries. A unique feature of this work in comparison to other onomastics dictionaries is the inclusion of genealogical information on most of the Francophone migrants to this continent, something which has been rendered possible not only by the excellent record-keeping in French Canada since the very beginnings of the colony, but also through the explosion of such data on the internet in the last couple of decades. In sum, this dictionary serves the dual purpose of providing information on the meanings of French family names on the North American continent, as well as on the migrants who brought them there.

The Congrégation de Notre-Dame, Superiors, and the Paradox of Power, 1693-1796

Nuns have often been portrayed as nascent feminists wielding an exceptional amount of power. In this formative study of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame - a religious community of uncloistered women established in Montreal in 1657 - Colleen Gray presents a more nuanced view of the foundations and exercise of power within the convent.

Advances in Lipid Research, Volume 21 covers several significant and emerging areas in lipid metabolism, including apolipoprotein metabolism and leukotrienes. This book discusses the role of fat in the functioning of the immune system. Organized into eight chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the metabolism of apolipoprotein B, which is the principal protein of chylomicrons, very low density, and low density lipoprotein. This text then describes the metabolism, biosynthesis, and pharmacology of leukotrienes. Other chapters consider the relation of lipids to immunology and explain the roles played by lipids in the structure and function of yeast membrane. This book discusses as well the general importance in the plant kingdom and the place of some carotenoids in human biology. The final chapter deals with the influence of proteins on configuration and function of reconstituted lipid membranes. This book is a valuable resource for biologists, chemists, biochemists, scientists, and research workers.
