LA LANGUE DE CHARLEVOIX ET DU SAGUENAY–LAC-SAINT-JEAN : UN FRANÇAIS QUI A DU CARACTÈRE
La langue de Charlevoix et du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean : un français qui a du caractère est un ouvrage qui s’appuie sur la linguistique et sur les méthodes de la lexicographie moderne, tout en restant accessible au grand public. La première partie du livre donne un aperçu géographique et historique des régions de Charlevoix et du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Elle traite ensuite succinctement de la variation géographique du français en contexte québécois, puis elle rappelle les principaux travaux qui ont porté sur la langue de ces régions. Enfin, elle brosse un tableau des traits linguistiques qui caractérisent le plus cette variété de français. La deuxième partie est constituée d’un dictionnaire comprenant quelque 260 articles où sont décrits près de 500 mots ou emplois caractéristiques du français de ces régions. Ceux-ci sont illustrés par de nombreux exemples puisés dans diverses sources (œuvres littéraires, journaux, chansons, films). Le dictionnaire indique en outre l’origine des mots traités.
