A partir del “giro cultural”, los estudios sobre la familia han abordado problemáticas como: nuevos modos de vínculo y parentesco, otras prácticas de maternidad y crianza, procesos emergentes de socialización y educación de los hijos, arreglos inéditos en torno a la domesticidad y, con menos frecuencia, masculinidades alternativas. En esta línea, el libro expone perspectivas teóricas sobre las familias y experiencias de crianza en el contexto de la diversidad. Ofrece conceptos, estados del conocimiento e interrogantes en este campo, que contribuyan a su actualización y discusión. Lo anterior, teniendo en cuenta que los autores coinciden en problematizar la familia y la crianza en relación con asuntos estructurales del orden social, como la diferencia de género, sexual y generacional, la clase social y el territorio.

Regional Integration, Development, and Governance in Mesoamerica
This book provides an overview of governance and development in the Mesoamerican Region (MAR), the design and scope of the Plan Puebla Panamá (PPP), its relationship to pre-existing regional organisms and its transformation into Proyecto Mesoamérica. The PPP was introduced as a holistic project that would reverse the cycles of poverty in Mesoamerica. However, the plan incited huge opposition from many groups within Mesoamerica, and throughout its duration few of its objectives were met. The author analyses the plan and describes the regional setting and precursors, as well as the US policy towards the Mesoamerican countries. Using this approach with an analysis of governance in Mesoamerica, this monograph shows a more complete picture of why this ambitious development project did not reach its goals and draws applicable insights to other regions where governance is complex.

Advances in Eating Disorders
Eating disorders (ED) are a group of mental disorders characterized by an altered food intake and the presence of inappropriate behaviors and thoughts about weight and shape. All EDs lead to physical and psychosocial functioning impairments in the patients which, in turn, may contribute to the persistence of the disease. The severity of EDs has been highlighted by their chronicity, medical complications, comorbidity, and high rates of mortality. Therefore, to address this important health issue, the current Special Issue collected 21 articles (i.e., three reviews and 18 research articles) focusing on the most recent and relevant scientific findings regarding advances in ED, such as genetic and epigenetic factors, biomarkers, comorbidity, clinical phenotypes, neurocognition, treatment predictors, and treatment models and therapeutic targets. Altogether, we believe that the articles contained in this Special Issue have largely achieved the initial objective of providing increased knowledge about the pathogenesis, the risk factors, the maintenance factors, and the most appropriate treatments tools for ED.
