From the late seventeenth through the mid-eighteenth centuries, large-scale Italian frescoes soared in popularity as nobles in the German principalities of the Holy Roman Empire constructed new palaces at an unprecedented rate. They competed with one another to produce lavish decorative schemes that expressed their claim to princely power and political authority. Whereas previous art historians have primarily focused on iconographic and stylistic issues and generally treated these programs as individual commissions of regional courts, this book places the works of art within their broad cultural and historical contexts during the Enlightenment. This monograph explains how rulers gradually shifted from emphasizing military heroism to stressing their cultivation of the arts and sciences, and addresses how expressing membership in a specifically European civilization emerged as an integral visual theme and a key ambition of the German nobility.

Abstract: Comparison studies using histopathology as standard of reference enable a validation of the diagnostic performance of imaging methods. This study analysed (1) the impact of different image-histopathology co-registration pathways, (2) the impact of the applied data analysis method and (3) intraindividually compared multiparametric magnet resonance tomography (mpMRI) and prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET) by using the different approaches. Ten patients with primary PCa who underwent mpMRI and [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT followed by prostatectomy were prospectively enrolled. We demonstrate that the choice of the intermediate registration step [(1) via...

Designed to help students attain the analytical skills and big-picture overview necessary to become informed citizens, the collection contains challenging and important readings from diverse fields that address critical issues in contemporary society. Ideas and research from wide-ranging sources provide opportunities for students to synthesize materials and come up with their own ideas and solutions. Students will be engaged by reading and rereading, analyzing, and working with these selections because they present powerful ideas, not simply because they are models of good writing style.

Abstract: Introduction Primary prostate cancer (PCa) can be visualized on prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA-PET) with high accuracy. However, intraprostatic lesions may be missed by visual PSMA-PET interpretation. In this work, we quantified and characterized the intraprostatic lesions which have been missed by visual PSMA-PET image interpretation. In addition, we investigated whether PSMA-PET-derived radiomics features (RFs) could detect these lesions. Methodology This study consists of two cohorts of primary PCa patients: a prospective training cohort (n = 20) and an external validation cohort (n = 52). All patients underwent 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and hist...

Abstract: Purpose: Accurate contouring of intraprostatic gross tumor volume (GTV) is pivotal for successful delivery of focal therapies and for biopsy guidance in patients with primary prostate cancer (PCa). Contouring of GTVs, using 18-Fluor labeled tracer prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography ([18F]PSMA-1007/PET) has not been examined yet. Patients and Methods: Ten Patients with primary PCa who underwent [18F]PSMA-1007 PET followed by radical prostatectomy were prospectively enrolled. Coregistered histopathological gross tumor volume (GTV-Histo) was used as standard of reference. PSMA-PET images were contoured on two ways: (1) manual contouring with PET scaling SU...
