Când m-am apucat să scriu aceste poveşti sau ce-or fi ele, am făcut-o pentru mine şi pentru pisicile cu care am intrat în contact. Dacă nu le-aş fi scris în româneşte, poate că acum aş fi fost bogată, după cum mi-a spus o prietenă din America. Dar, când Cristian vrea să publice pe numele lui tot ce am scris eu, asta mi se pare scandalos. Chiar dacă – aici trebuie să-i dau şi lui dreptate – nici un editor din România n-ar accepta să intre în relaţii contractuale cu o pisică, decât riscând să fie taxat drept nebun. Drept care spun aici că îi cedez lui Cristian Teodorescu drepturile mele de autor şi tot ceea ce decurge din ele pentru acest roman, căruia el i-a dat numele Cartea pisicii.
Power and Literature
At the core of this book lies the relation between Power (as socio-political phenomenon) and the novel (as literary discourse). It shows that, in a society facing the excess of power in its various forms, novelistic fiction mediates knowledge about societal Power structures and uses specific strategies to subvert and denounce them. The first part of the study is theoretical: it presents some of the most prominent theories of Power, from Plato, Machiavelli, Nietzsche to Weber, Dahl, Lukes, Parsons, Bourdieu or Foucault. After offering a critical approach to the concepts of Power defined in the social, political and philosophical fields, it articulates the relations of Power imprinted in literary discourse within a typology of four categories. In the second part of the book, this taxonomy of Power is applied to four key novels in the context of Romanian "literary crossroads", showing how novelistic fiction not only assume a critical and subversive position against the excess of Power, but also unveils our fragility when experiencing History.

Environmental management may take place on many different levels - starting from global level, e.g. climate changes, through national and regional level (environmental policy) and ending on micro level. The diversity of presented aspects within environmental management and approaching the subject from the perspective of various countries contributes greatly to the development of environmental management field of research.
Secret Agents and the Memory of Everyday Collaboration in Communist Eastern Europe
The collection of essays in Secret Agents and the Memory of Everyday Collaboration in Communist Eastern Europe addresses institutions that develop the concept of collaboration, and examines the function, social representation and history of secret police archives and institutes of national memory that create these histories of collaboration. The essays provide a comparative account of collaboration/participation across differing categories of collaborators and different social milieux throughout East-Central Europe. They also demonstrate how secret police files can be used to produce more subtle social and cultural histories of the socialist dictatorships. By interrogating the ways in which post-socialist cultures produce the idea of, and knowledge about, “collaborators,” the contributing authors provide a nuanced historical conception of “collaboration,” expanding the concept toward broader frameworks of cooperation and political participation to facilitate a better understanding of Eastern European communist regimes.
