This book investigated the relationship between the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the internationalization agenda of US colleges and universities. Three research questions were investigated, with two universities in the Miami-area of South Florida, one private and the other public, as qualitative case studies. Key findings included a progressive decline in Fall to Fall enrollment of international students at both institutions, where themes associated with the post-9/11 environment of international education as perceived by international education professionals were aggregated into 3(M)enaces, 3(T)rajectories, 3 (C)ontradictions and 1(D)ominance. As Dr. Michael Smithee stated in th...
Life is a gift from God. Milestones are occasions to reflect, recall memories and count our blessings. This book takes its roots from the depths of the heart, to honor and celebrate my husband; John Oluwagbemiga Ademola Oni. It includes messages, expressions and prayers intended to bless, encourage and prepare him for the golden years ahead.
"The study presents the analyses of field observations and simulation experiments with an event-based, two-dimensional hydrodynamic model. The model summarized the interactions between temporally dynamic rainfall, infiltration process and surface runoff in a catchment with varied soil physio-hydraulic properties, surface-roughtness, slope-lengths and vegetation structure. Both observation and simulation results indicate that the observation scale affects runoff coefficient and runoff discharge per unit area. The effect of scale is a result of spatial variability in infiltration opportunities, which vary with the slop length and distribution of saturated conductivity, leading to different trasmission losses potential during runoff routing downslope. The magnitude of the difference is influenced by surface and vegetated microtopography, which determine the flow rate"--Back cover.

Trials and Triumphs: The Story of TheNews is an engaging narrative of an era of journalistic daring and partisanship on the side of democracy, justice and equity. It chronicles and examines how the founding team of TheNews magazine, their editors and reporters and their support staff endured torture and imprisonment, harassment and abduction, seizures and closures, proscription and arson, threats of death and even death, because of their fundamental commitment to share public intelligence in a society and polity which had been hijacked by the most perverse military regimes that Nigeria ever experienced. From General Ibrahim Babangida's obstinate subversion of the national ethos to General Sa...
