The practice of design depends on what people are willing to share with us. The joy of creation is nurtured when practical ethical exercises are used during the different phases of the design process. Research in design is an expression of collaboration between individuals, where building a relationship of trust is paramount. The nucleus of this relationship can be divided into three broad concepts that can serve as vehicles for empathy: admiration, commitment, and integrity. Biodiseño en colegios
La educación tradicional, que se basa principalmente en evaluar un contenido teórico al finalizar el curso, no se alinea con el desarrollo de competencias que requiere el ciudadano del siglo XXI. Hoy necesitamos individuos creativos e innovadores, con pensamiento crítico, capaces de aprender a aprender y con habilidades de resolución de problemas complejos. Personas que trabajen de manera colaborativa con habilidades de comunicación transdisciplinar. Ciudadanos que conozcan las necesidades locales con visión global y que tengan la capacidad de tomar decisiones y actuar considerando aquello que favorece el bienestar propio, el de la comunidad y el del planeta, y que comprendan que la solución radica en el equilibrio entre ellos.Estas habilidades pueden ser adquiridas por medio del pensamiento de diseño, el cual construye el aprendizaje mediante el desarrollo de proyectos y se teoriza de acuerdo con el reto que ha sido planteado. Biodesign in high schools
Traditional education, which is mainly based on evaluating theoretical content at the end of a course, is not in keeping with the skillset we require in the twenty-first century. Today, we need creative and innovative individuals who can think critically, who are capable of learning to learn, and who have complex problem-solving skills. We need people who can work collaboratively using transdisciplinary communication skills. We need citizens who are aware of local needs but have a global vision. They must make decisions not only based on their own well-being, but also in the best interests of the community and the planet. They must understand that the solution requires a balance. People can acquire these skills through design thinking, which builds the learning process by carrying out projects, and theorizes based on set challenges.
