Sustainable finance is a holistic approach to the sustainability development goals (SDG), so that the interdependence between environmental, social, and governance issues is unveiled. Sustainable finance takes into account the various challenges following from social change and sustainability, the evolution of capital markets, and the development of efficient risk management practices. Governance issues are an integral part of sustainable finance. However, academic literature has generally neglected to consider strategies to prevent and fight financial crimes as a crucial component of sustainable finance. The aim of this book is to focus on the interconnectedness between sustainable finance and preventing/fighting financial crime, not only as a crucial governance issue, but also as a deep challenge for social and even environmental issues. There is no really sustainable finance without developing strong and efficient means to fight financial crimes.

Organization and Management of the Processes in the Democratic State for Dealing with Corruption as a Socio-Political Challenge

Swamp, felt and nepotism - more than every second EU citizen assumes that corruption, bribery and venality are the order of the day both in the EU and in their own country. Therefore, the scientific study focuses on the sociological and criminological foundations of corruption and compliance as an administrative and corporate possibility for the prevention of corruption and white-collar crime. In this context, the study considers compliance as a strategy and instrument that is intended to ensure correct behavior in accordance with applicable law. Nevertheless, the strategies and instruments also include moral-ethical codes of conduct, which are of course subject to voluntary action. The conditions, possibilities and limits of compliance measures are highlighted and political, legal and sociological design options are discussed.

Eckard Burkatzki stellt anhand einer empirischen Studie die unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen normbezogener Orientierungsmuster bei Angehörigen der Erwerbsbevölkerung heraus. Referenzpunkt sind dabei die individuellen Einstellungen zum Geltungsanspruch rechtlicher Normen, zur Attraktivität ökonomischer Erfolgsziele und zur wahrgenommenen Relevanz kommunitär-gemeinschaftlicher Verpflichtungen. Seine Studie zeigt, dass einerseits das Ausmaß der Markt- und Gemeinwohlorientierung bei Akteuren in Abhängigkeit von bestimmten Formen der Markteinbindung variiert. Andererseits folgt das Verhältnis von Markteinbindung und Gemeinwohlorientierung – entgegen den gängigen Annahmen – keiner eindimensionalen Logik.
Medienhandeln Jugendlicher
Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts nutzen Jugendliche in Deutschland die ganze Vielfalt der ihnen zugänglichen Medien. Die Studie des M4-Forschungsteams weist allerdings prägnante Unterschiede in Interessen, Neigungen und Medienkompetenzen bei den 12- bis 20-Jährigen nach. Mit Hilfe eines clusteranalytischen Verfahrens werden zudem sieben Typen jugendlichen Medienhandelns ermittelt. Die Darstellung der Ergebnisse folgt einem lebensweltlichen und handlungstheoretischen Konzept und basiert neben den Daten einer Fragebogenerhebung mit über 3000 Jugendlichen auch auf qualitativen Intensivinterviews.

Welche Genrepräferenzen gibt es und welche Rechtfertigungsstrategien entwickeln Jugendliche bezüglich ihres Medienkonsums? Diese neue Studie zum Umgang mit medialer Gewalt bei Jugendlichen gibt konkrete Antworten. Es zeigt sich, dass im Kontext der alltäglichen Mediennutzung von Jugendlichen (fiktionale) gewaltbezogene Inhalte einen hohen Stellenwert besitzen und von den Heranwachsenden vor allem sowohl zur Unterhaltung als auch zur Entspannung rezipiert werden. Den Ergebnissen entsprechend werden pädagogische Empfehlungen gegeben: Jugendliche brauchen Orientierung!
Logik und Problematik der Antikorruption
Korruption wird meist mit undemokratischen Staaten in Verbindung gebracht. Dass das Phänomen jedoch auch in konsolidierten westlichen Demokratien aufzutreten vermag, wo korrupte Verhaltensweisen aufgrund des herrschenden Selbstverständnisses einer modernen politischen Kultur dem demokratischen Grundkonsens entgegenstehen, belegen empirische Befunde. Vor diesem Hintergrund charakterisiert die Autorin Korruption und Antikorruption und legt eine Abgrenzung zwischen unterschiedlichen Ebenen, Sektoren und Reichweiten vor. Sie geht der Frage nach, inwieweit Antikorruption funktional gewählt ist und zeigt, wie diese auf Eigenschaften und Prämissen westlicher Demokratien abgestimmt werden kann, um Korruption langfristig zu minimieren.
