This edited collection brings together the work of researchers and educators from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, Portugal,and Mexico on education, pedagogy, and research from a queer perspective. It offers a space for the dissemination and development of new lines of analysis and intervention in the field of Queer Pedagogies in the region, relevant to the present and future of the field both in our countries and beyond. Chapters provide perspectives aware of the regional context but relevant from a theoretical and practical perspective beyond Ibero-America. The volume covers elementary, middle, and higher education, formal and informal, and includes theoretical and applied contributions on a variety of topics including public policies on education, queer youth, sex education, and conservative attacks against "gender ideology" in the region.

This book emphasizes the significance of affects, feelings and emotions in how we think about politics, gender and sexuality in Latin America. Considering the complex and even contradictory social processes that the region is experiencing today, many Latin American authors are turning to affect to find a key to understand our present situation, to revisit our history, and to imagine new possibilities for the future. This tendency has shown such a specificity and sometimes departure from northern productions that it compels us to focus more deeply on its own arguments, methods, and critical contributions. This volume features essays that explore the particularities of Latin American ways of thinking about affect and how they can shed new light into our understanding of, gender, sexuality and politics.
The second issue of the yearbook History of Intellectual Culture (HIC) dedicates a thematic section to modes of publication. This volume addresses recent advances in publication studies and stresses the cultural formation of knowledge. By exploring and analyzing layers of presenting, sharing, and circulating knowledge, we invite readers to critically engage with questions of media uses and publishing practices and structures, both historically and in our contemporary digital age. The articles in this volume attest to the great variety of publication modes and perspectives, from the potential and limits of digitizing newspapers such as the New York Times to questions of positionality in building and using Wikipedia, from translation policies and female participation to the genre of university histories.
Domestic violence is a significant threat to women’s survival. But Christian understandings of marriage often prevent women from resisting abusive relationships. Can the Church’s teaching on marriage be reshaped so that it helps women to survive, rather than encourage them to submit to their husband, bear their cross, or sacrifice themselves for the sake of their marriage? Focusing on everyday practices of marriage in two very different contexts: Argentina and England, Reimagining Theologies of Marriage in Contexts of Domestic Violence considers how Christian understandings of marriage as a covenant or sacrament relate to the lived experience of marriage. Drawing on Augustine’s notion of the goods of marriage, and on belief in the saving power of marriage, this book suggests that only when the wellbeing of bodies is central to a marriage can it have the power to save.

Tal como lo constituye la perspectiva del feminismo descolonial en la región Latinoamericana/Abiayalense, parte del trabajo en la RPD consiste en el auspicio, edición y divulgación de escritos pertinentes a las necesidades contextuales de la región, en el orden de desarrollo de una geopolítica del conocimiento que piense el Sur como un proceso alternativo para un concepto nuevo de Dignidad Humana, con conciencia de identidad matria, regionalista y latinoamericana; fundada en la práctica de la justicia, el diálogo y la liberación individual y colectiva de los pueblos. Así pues, el presente libro titulado “Poéticas de los Feminismos Descoloniales desde el Sur” es un ejemplo de la rigurosidad por seguir fortaleciendo las discusiones provenientes desde Nuestra América, que logren mostrar “otras” epistemologías críticas, auto-críticas y reflexivas en los Estudios de Género. En efecto, la necesidad de continuar re-pensando la teoría feminista desde el Sur, implica un reto a fin de establecer diálogos entre la realidad concreta y la praxis de los sectores oprimidos o subalternos que resisten, existen y reclaman por Justicia y Liberación
A obra Memórias em movimento nasce como um volume bilingue português-castelhano para tentar estabelecer uma ponte entre investigadores que trabalham nas duas línguas ibéricas aquém e além do Oceano Atlântico. Tem, portanto, uma perspectiva transnacional alinhada com o campo dos estudos ibéricos, assim como com os estudos da memória, do trauma e do cinema de não ficção, com especial destaque para o documentário argentino e chileno do século XXI. Este volume, aliás, tenciona combinar a reflexão teórica sobre as estratégias de representação da memória cultural no cinema com a análise de vários casos de estudo procedentes de diferentes países (Espanha, Portugal, Argentina e Chile), entre os quais salientam os documentários realizados pelo cineasta chileno Patricio Guzmán. Para concluir o volume, de facto, decidimos incluir a transcrição editada de uma entrevista recente com este documentarista com o intuito de contextualizar melhor os cinco capítulos precedentes, que estão focados na análise da sua obra.
