Giorgio Bazzichelli. L'uomo e lo scienziato
Giorgio Bazzichelli (1924-2011) è stato professore di Botanica e di Algologia alla Sapienza Università di Roma. Figura speciale oltre che per l’originalità del pensiero scientifico anche per la passione per la musica e la letteratura, è stato ricordato durante una giornata organizzata dal Dipartimento di Biologia Ambientale il 19 aprile 2012. I resoconti della giornata, ora pubblicati in questa collana, propongono, come scrive nella prefazione Gianni Felicini, “il ritratto di un professore d’università e uomo di scienza … descritto non nella forma usuale di mesto necrologio infarcito di citazioni seriose, ma come una storia leggera, viva, ricca di eventi e di divertenti aneddoti in cui il lettore può ritrovare persino un po’ di se stesso”. In appendice viene presentata una scelta di brani tratti dai diari che scrisse tra il 1953 e il 1965.
Project Management
Contemporary organizations are undertaking increasingly complex projects in globalized, uncertain and dynamic environments. Proliferation of international programs, growing and challenging sophistication of technologies and of projects’ scope, and the increasing number of stakeholders are only some of the factors that increase or generate project complexity. Enhancing the understanding of what project complexity is and delineating the antecedents that increase or generate complexity can be fundamental steps towards the identification of drivers that cause complexity and consequences for project management performance. The PMI® Italian Academic Workshop, organized in 20-21 September 2018 by Sapienza University of Rome and the three Italian Chapter of the Project Management Institute, has been an event aimed at supporting participants to develop their researches to a further stage through in-depth discussions on the topic of project complexity. The state of the art of Uralic studies: tradition vs innovation
This volume contains the Proceedings of the ‘Uralic Studies’ Seminar: The State of the Art of Uralic Studies: Tradition vs Innovation, held in Padua (Italy), November 12-13, 2016. The seminar was organized by the Department of ‘Studi Linguistici e Letterari’ of Padua University and the ‘Facoltà di Lettere e Filosofia’ of Sapienza University of Rome. The aim of the seminar, and of this volume, was / is to bring together linguists working on the Uralic languages from different perspectives, with the purpose of increasing the exchange of ideas and fostering mutual influences on each other field and methods of analysis. In addition to presenting the current ‘state of the art of Uralic studies’ – for specialists, general linguists and general public – the volume also addresses some issues related to the so-called ‘Ural-Altaic theory’, nowadays often referred to as the ‘Ural-Altaic linguistic belt, unique typological belt’. The contributors to the volume are renown scholars of Uralic, and also Altaic languages, from various European universities, such as Moscow, Helsinki, Paris, Budapest etc.

This peer-reviewed volume contains selected papers from the First EAGLE International Conference on Information Technologies for Epigraphy and Cultural Heritage, held in Paris between September 29 and October 1, 2014. Here are assembled for the first time in a unique volume contributions regarding all aspects of Digital Epigraphy: Models, Vocabularies, Translations, User Engagements, Image Analysis, 3D methodologies, and ongoing projects at the cutting edge of digital humanities. Questo volume raccoglie gli atti del primo convegno annuale del l’Associazione per l’Informatica Umanistica e la Cultura Digitale (Firenze 13 e 14 dicembre 2012). L’incontro ha avuto al centro alcuni temi di particolare rilevanza nell’attuale fase di sviluppo delle Digital Humanities: come favorire la convergenza di competenze diverse per sostenere il processo di transizione al digitale dell’intero patrimonio culturale? Come ripensare e riaffermare il ruolo essenziale che l’informatica umanistica è chiamata a svolgere in questo processo di trasformazione culturale? Come valorizzare il contributo culturale e scientifico della ricerca e dei progetti condotti in ambito italiano?
