A History of the School of Spiritual Science
The School of Spiritual Science and its individual sections was initiated by Rudolf Steiner at the Christmas Conference (1923-1924). Marie Steiner
Marie Steiner -- the wife of Rudolf Steiner and one of his closest colleagues -- made a great contribution to the development of anthroposophy, particularly in her tireless work on the renewal of the performing arts (eurythmy, speech, and drama), and the editing and publishing of Rudolf Steiner's literary, estate. However, as Hans Peter van Manen argues, the anthroposophical movement is like a listing ship in that, as time has gone on, "far more has come to be known about Ita Wegman, in the karmic sense, than about Marie Steiner." In publishing this reworked lecture, van Manen goes some way toward redressing the imbalance, presenting the results of his own carefully considered thoughts on the subject of Marie Steiner's karmic past. In doing so, he links her to a well-known individuality connected with Aristotle in ancient Greece.
Christ and Antichrist
Rudolf Steiner taught that the Christ would reappear in the twentieth century in the etheric, or life, realm of the Earth. He also made to other astonishing predictions in relation to that event --first, that before humankind could comprehend such a reappearance, we "must have passed through the encounter with the Beast, which will appear in 1933"; second, that around the end of the century Sorath --the Sun Demon --would again arise to oppose individual vision of the etheric Christ. The Destiny of the Michael Community
In two related studies, Peter Selg tracks the groundbreaking of the first Goetheanum on September 20, 1913, in the context of what is known as the “Michael movement,” the primary active impulse brought by Rudolf Steiner in 1924, which explicitly indicates the anthroposophic movement and its official society. The Heavenly Sophia and the Being Anthroposophia
Based on the author's experience of the suprasensory being behind spiritual science (Anthroposophy), this volume is the culmination of Sergei Prokofieff's twenty-five years of work on Rudolf Steiner's spiritual impulse. He shows that the being Anthroposophia is not merely a poetic image or an abstract concept, but an actual spiritual entity who works in the higher worlds to benefit earthly evolution and bring to humanity "the new revelation of the heavenly Sophia, the divine wisdom." In the first part of the book, Prokofieff describes the path that led him to experience the being Anthroposophia--a path that is clearly outlined so that it can be followed by the reader as well. In the second part, beginning with Steiner's relatively few statements on the subject, the author considers the position of the living Anthroposophia in the cosmic hierarchy--specifically her relationship to Christ, to the heavenly Sophia, and the to Archangel Michael.
