The Quest for the National Interest
The concept of national interest belongs among the most widely used and abused concepts in the foreign policy debate. This volume illustrates how the term can be used as a meaningful analytical tool. It introduces three criteria (relevance, domestic consensus, and external acceptance) which serve to identify national interest. The authors apply these criteria to Czech foreign policy making and provide some interesting findings concerning a country's possibilities to define and pursue its national interest. Since the authors use four different methodologies (case studies, discourse analysis, grounded theory, and ethnography), the volume also shows the variety of possible ways to analyse national interests.

In this book the author traces the history of America's oldest symphonic organization down to the beginning of Pierre Boulez's conductorship. Against the background of changing cultural patterns of American life over a century and a quarter, the author examines interactions between the New York Philharmonic and the society in which it functioned. Předložená monografie usiluje o přínos v oblasti výuky o elektrotechnice a zejména užití didaktických prostředků v podobě elektrotechnických stavebnic ve výuce současné školy, vymezením požadavků, které v souladu s cíli vyučovacího procesu a především s pedagogickou teorií jsou na tomto poli vyžadovány. V práci je shrnuta problematika elektrotechnických stavebnic z pohledu jejich aplikací v oblasti všeobecně pojatého technického vzdělávání, včetně formulace odpovědí na některé praktické problémy příslušné oborové didaktiky, jež jsou s nimi spojené. Součástí monografie jsou prezentovány výsledky v minulosti realizovaných výzkumných šetření.
