Publisher description
'Behavior' is an increasingly important concept in the scientific, societal, economic, cultural, political, military, living and virtual worlds. Behavior computing, or behavior informatics, consists of methodologies, techniques and practical tools for examining and interpreting behaviours in these various worlds. Behavior computing contributes to the in-depth understanding, discovery, applications and management of behavior intelligence. With contributions from leading researchers in this emerging field Behavior Computing: Modeling, Analysis, Mining and Decision includes chapters on: representation and modeling behaviors; behavior ontology; behaviour analysis; behaviour pattern mining; clust...
This book points out that “Internet” is the means, and the digital economy is the result. Therefore, the development of digital economy will inevitably have a profound impact on traditional enterprises and Internet enterprises and become the main way and new driving force for China's innovation and growth. The book starts with the concept of digital economy and reveals the current development of digital economy, how to improve the foundation of digital construction, and the strategies for accelerating digital transformation of various industries, the problems that need to be solved in the development of digital economy and the huge role it will play in promoting society. The book provides a clear blueprint for the government and enterprises to understand and formulate policies and development strategies in the era of digital economy.
The study of the family is one of the major lacunas in Byzantine Studies. Angeliki Laiou remarked in 1989 that ’the study of the Byzantine family is still in its infancy’, and this assertion remains true today. The present volume addresses this lacuna. It comprises 19 chapters written by international experts in the field which take a variety of approaches to the study of the Byzantine family, and embrace a chronological span from the later Roman to the late Byzantine empire. The context is established by chapters focusing on the Roman roots of the Byzantine family, the Christianisation of the family, and the nature of the family in contemporaneous cultures (the late antique west and the...
The ability to successfully predict industrial product performance during service life provides benefits for producers and users. This book addresses methods to improve product quality, reliability, and durability during the product life cycle, along with methods to avoid costs that can negatively impact profitability plans. The methods presented can be applied to reducing risk in the research and design processes and integration with manufacturing methods to successfully predict product performance. This approach incorporates components that are based on simulations in the laboratory. The results are combined with in-field testing to determine degradation parameters. These approaches result in improvements to product quality, performance, safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Among the methods of analyses included are: • Accelerated Reliability Testing (ART) • Accelerated Durability Testing (ADT) • system variability / input variability • engineering risk versus time and expense
