Supramolecular host-guest nanosystems for overcoming cancer drug resistance
Cancer drug resistance has become one of the main challenges for the failure of chemotherapy, greatly limiting the selection and use of anticancer drugs and dashing the hopes of cancer patients. The emergence of supramolecular host-guest nanosystems has brought the field of supramolecular chemistry into the nanoworld, providing a potential solution to this challenge. Compared with conventional chemotherapeutic platforms, supramolecular host-guest nanosystems can reverse cancer drug resistance by increasing drug uptake, reducing drug efflux, activating drugs, and inhibiting DNA repair. Herein, we summarize the research progress of supramolecular host-guest nanosystems for overcoming cancer drug resistance and discuss the future research direction in this field. It is hoped that this review will provide more positive references for overcoming cancer drug resistance and promoting the development of supramolecular host-guest nanosystems.
A Companion to Yi jing Numerology and Cosmology
Translations of the Yi jing into western languages have been biased towards the yili ('meaning and pattern') tradition, whereas studies of the xiangshu ('image and number') tradition - which takes as its point of departure the imagery and numerology associated with divination and its hexagrams, trigrams, lines, and related charts and diagrams - has remained relatively unexplored. This major new reference work is organised as a Chinese-English encyclopedia, arranged alphabetically according to the pinyin romanisation, with Chinese characters appended. A character index as well as an English index is included. The entries are of two kinds: technical terms and various other concepts related to the 'image and number' tradition, and bio-bibliographical information on Chinese Yi jing scholars. Each entry in the former category has a brief explanation that includes references to the origins of the term, cross-references, and a reference to an entry giving a more comprehensive treatment of the subject.

The Twenty-Four Histories (Chinese: 二十四史) are the Chinese official historical books covering a period from 3000 BC to the Ming dynasty in the 17th century. The Han dynasty official Sima Qian established many of the conventions of the genre. China’s Macroeconomic Outlook
This report is a partial result of China’s Quarterly Macroeconomic Model (CQMM), a project developed and maintained by the Center for Macroeconomic Research (CMR) at Xiamen University. The CMR is one of the Key Research Institutes of Humanities and Social Sciences sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China, focusing on China’s economic growth and macroeconomic policy. The CMR started to develop CQMM for purpose of short-term forecasting, policy analysis, and simulation in 2005. Based on CQMM, the CMR and its partners hold press conferences to release forecasts for China’ major macroeconomic variables. Since July 2006, thirty-three quarterly reports on China’s macroeconomic outlook have been presented.

INVESTIGATIONS OF MAGNETIC AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF SOME FERRITE SYSTEMS PREPARED BY CHEMICAL ROUTE
Ferrites are ceramic, homogeneous materials composed of various oxides with iron oxide as their main constituent. Ferrites are a class of ceramic ferromagnetic materials that by definition can be magnetized to produce large magnetic flux densities in response to small applied magnetization forces. Further, ferrites are chemical compounds, ceramic with iron (III) oxide Fe2O3 as their principal components [1]. Ferrites are usually non-conductive ferrimagnetic ceramic compounds derived from iron oxides such as hematite (Fe2O3) or magnetite (Fe3O4) as well as oxides of other metals. Ferrites are, like most other ceramics, hard and brittle. Many of them are magnetic materials and they are used to make permanent magnets, ferrite cores for transformers and in various other applications.
