Juventude, participação e desenvolvimento social na América Latina e Caribe
A Escola MOST: Juventude, Participação e Desenvolvimento Social na América Latina e Caribe, realizada em Brasília, em dezembro de 2013, reuniu participantes provenientes de diferentes países: Brasil, Argentina, Uruguai, México, Colômbia, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Bolívia, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Panamá, Guatemala e Espanha. Jovens pesquisadores e pesquisadoras, gestores e gestoras e lideranças de movimentos sociais que durante uma semana debateram caminhos para a construção de políticas públicas de juventude com ampla participação social. A publicação Juventude, Participação e Desenvolvimento Social na América Latina e Caribe: Escola Most/UNESCO Brasil dá continuidade ao ciclo de aprendizagem iniciado no encontro, já que os artigos produzidos pelos participantes ampliam as reflexões do coletivo. Um dos objetivos da Escola foi organizar redes ou outras formas colaborativas de produção de conhecimento, e podemos observar que vários artigos foram escritos em parceria. Parcerias estas, estabelecidas durante o evento e que permitiram, de fato, refletir sobre as diferentes realidades sociais, criar pontos de convergência e de encontro de saberes.
Entertainment Computing - ICEC 2011
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Entertainment Computing, ICEC 2011, held in Vancouver, Canada, in October 2011, under the auspices of IFIP. The 20 revised long papers, 18 short papers and 24 poster papers and demos presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 94 initial submissions. The papers cover all main domains of entertainment computing, from interactive music to games, taking a wide range of scientific domains from aesthetic to computer science. The papers are organized in topical sections on story, active games, player experience, camera and 3D, educational entertainment, game development, self and identity, social and mobile entertainment; plus the four categories: demonstrations, posters, workshosp, and tutorial.
The Mediterranean region under climate change
This book has been published by Allenvi (French National Alliance for Environmental Research) to coincide with the 22nd Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) in Marrakesh. It is the outcome of work by academic researchers on both sides of the Mediterranean and provides a remarkable scientific review of the mechanisms of climate change and its impacts on the environment, the economy, health and Mediterranean societies. It will also be valuable in developing responses that draw on “scientific evidence” to address the issues of adaptation, resource conservation, solutions and risk prevention.
