La lucha por el agua
El enfoque de la gestión comunitaria del agua en el Ecuador es un tema de vital importancia. El ejemplo del proyecto Pesillo-Imbabura, en donde la organización comunitaria fue fundamental para su ejecución, dio lugar a esta investigación. Reuniones de dirigentes, asambleas de usuarios, protestas, mingas, diálogo con distintos actores y con la cooperación fueron claves en el desarrollo del proyecto Pesillo: un ejemplo de cómo la unión y un objeto común son claves para tener resultados de desarrollo en territorios indígenas. Esta publicación recoge antecedentes históricos sobre las formas de acceso al agua hasta la creación de las Juntas de Administración de Agua Potable Comunitarias. Analiza tanto el derecho al agua como la organización comunitaria y, en Pesillo, encuentra un ejemplo que visibiliza la lucha por el agua a nivel nacional.
Cuando vengo nomás vengo
Esta iniciativa de la Carrera de Educación Intercultural Bilingüe, generada en el corto período de marzo a julio de 2018, en plena transición a la modalidad virtual, es un esfuerzo de los alumnos por difundir las vivencias de los taitas y las mamas a través de la palabra. Es hora de explorar, más allá de los territorios teóricos en esas vivencias profundamente ancladas a la vida porque esa sabiduría popular puede servir de insumo pedagógico para nuevos aprendizajes. Este ejercicio de recuperación de la tradición oral desde la cosmovivencia de nuestros mayores, no es otra cosa que la búsqueda de estrategias educativas que permitan al estudiante apuntalar su identidad comunitaria y, al docente, propiciar procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, acordes a valores ancestrales como el respeto a la diversidad reciprocidad comunitaria, espiritualidad festiva, remediación de errores, interpretación de la realidad desde la sabiduría popular: respeto a la naturaleza.
Ritual Encounters
This book examines ritual practices and public festivals in the Otavalo and Cotacachi areas of northern Andean Ecuador's Imbabura province. Otavalenos are a unique group in that they maintain their traditional identity but also cultivate a cosmopolitanism through frequent international travel. Rituals have persisted among this ethnic community as important processes for symbolically capturing and critically assessing cultural changes in the face of modern influences. Ritual Encounters thus offers an appreciation of the modern and mythic community as a single and emergent condition.
