Begun in 1993 by "peace studies" founder Johann Galtung and others, TRANSCEND is a peace education and mediation organization that was commissioned by the United Nations to draw up a manual for conflict transformation. This volume is a revised result of that commission and explores the roots of conflict while promoting TRANSCEND's style of peace advocacy. Politics and Racism Beyond Nations
