Near-infrared photoimmunotherapy (NIR-PIT) represents a novel antibody-based strategy for selective cellular depletion. Originally introduced for EGFR-specific cancer cell treatment, NIR-PIT displayed distinctive depletion prosperity in several mouse models. Adapted from these findings, a skin selective depletion of an antibody-targeted cell type has a potential of becoming an important therapeutic option in dermatology. Here, we report on a method for the skin selective depletion of CD8 T cells and its therapeutic effect in a humanized mouse model of cutaneous acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD). In immunodeficient NSG (NOD.Cg-Prkdcscid Il2rgtm1Wjl/SzJ) mice transplanted with human skin...

Psoriasis - Recent Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment

Psoriasis, a chronic autoinflammatory skin condition, significantly impacts quality of life. Its prevalence peaks at 2% in Northern countries. Thus, it is imperative to examine what practitioners can discern from psoriatic patients, ranging from the typical chronic plaque psoriasis to other manifestations. Recognizing these signs promptly can bring relief to patients and ensure optimal support. Treatment decisions must strike a balance between benefits and side effects, with patient empowerment being crucial for them to manage their lives effectively. This book offers readers, regardless of their specialty, the chance to view psoriatic patients from a different perspective, acknowledging that these patients require more than just pharmacological interventions.

This book summarizes rapid progress and innovation in transplantation and regenerative medicine - the merger of reconstructive plastic surgery and transplantation - called Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation. This merger includes face, hand, uteri, larynx, tongue, penis and trachea translplantations as well as other body part transplants using grafts derived from organ donors. These sorts of transplants are now performed more commonly. Cell therapies for immunomodulation are surrogates for immune responses after transplantation to non-invasive imaging of neuroregeneration for improving functional outcomes after transplant.
