Reseña del editor: Llegar a ser un buen educador implica un proceso de formación continua en el cual se hace necesario conocer en profundidad las contribuciones de distintas disciplinas, entre ellas la psicología. Pensada para la formación de los estudiantes de magisterio, con un estilo riguroso, pero cercano, y usando multitud de ejemplos extraídos fundamentalmente de aulas de infantil y primaria, esta obra pretende ser una primera aproximación a algunas de las aportaciones más relevantes que hace la psicología de la educación para analizar la práctica educativa e intervenir sobre los principales retos que plantea. El manual está compuesto por diez capítulos divididos en dos partes. La primera sirve como marco de referencia conceptual para comprender los factores que contribuyen a explicar la calidad de los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje que se llevan a cabo en las escuelas. Se presenta, así, un marco constructivista que ayuda a analizar los procesos educativos y, en concreto, la interacción en las aulas.
Orientación educativa
Aborda el papel del orientador en los procesos de innovación educativa. Los centros escolares son organizaciones dinámicas, que necesitan reflexionar sobre sus procesos e ir introduciendo modificaciones que mejoren su funcionamiento. Por tanto, la innovación debería ser un elemento incorporado a la cultura de las instituciones educativas. Como asesores psicopedagógicos, los orientadores desempeñan un importante papel en el impulso de estos procesos de innovación y mejora. En consecuencia, este libro ofrece un conjunto de criterios y propuestas que definen dicho papel, entre las que se encuentran: el desarrollo de una enseñanza funcional y orientada a la adquisición de competencias, la mejora de la convivencia y el clima escolar, la transformación de las aulas en espacios de aprendizaje cooperativo, o la puesta en marcha de procesos de reflexión y mejora a partir de la evaluación de la calidad de la enseñanza en los centros.
