Prawdziwa wojna wróciła do Europy, do naszego sąsiedztwa. Co do istoty, jest to wojna całkowicie imperialna (podbój terytorialny dla narzucenia panowania), zgodna z rosyjską tradycją od Piotra I Wielkiego, której ideowe korzenie tkwią w wielkoruskim szowinizmie. Już okazała się porażką Rosji, ale jest też czymś więcej. To stress-test dla bezpieczeństwa międzynarodowego w końcowej fazie liberalnego porządku międzynarodowego. Spowodowała rewitalizację Zachodu jako formacji geopolitycznej. Przejawem tej witalności jest między innymi determinacja Zachodu w przyjściu ofierze agresji z militarnym wsparciem, dzięki któremu Ukraina była w stanie zatrzymać wielkie mocarstwo.
