The 26th EUROCALL conference was organised by the University of Jyväskylä (JYU) Language Campus and specifically the Language Centre. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Future-proof CALL: language learning as exploration and encounters’, which reflects an attempt to envision language teaching and learning futures in a changing world. What brought researchers together this year are shared concerns in relation to the sustainability of language learning and teaching in technology-rich contexts that are marked by ever-increasing complexity. The collection of short papers in this volume is a very thorough view into the conference proper exhibiting the complexity and novelty of the field of CALL. There are exciting new openings and a more profound exploration of theoretical underpinnings of the contemporary issues in teaching and learning, cross-cultural communication, mobile learning and the like.
Revisiting Language Learning Resources
Human and material resources are two key elements that make up the language learning process. Regarding material resources, nowadays new technologies can be said to play a leading role in most language learning environments. However, we cannot forget that these relatively new tools still coexist with more traditional ones which are still widely used in the foreign language classroom. On the other hand, the progressive emergence of new 'human roles' in language learning means that human resources have also become a key medium through which the learner accesses knowledge and practice towards language acquisition.There is an obvious need to carry out research on these resources in order to assess their potential for an optimum learning experience. This book tries to meet such needs offering the research work that different authors have carried out in this field.

Didáctica de la Lengua Española en Educación Primaria
Este libro ofrece los fundamentos básicos de la didáctica de la lengua española a maestros, futuros maestros o cualquier persona interesada en enseñar lengua española. Para ello, divide el texto en dos partes. En la primera se ofrecen los rudimentos de la lengua española, atendiendo a los niveles fonético-fonológico, morfosintáctico, léxico-semántico, pragmático-discursivo y sociolingüístico. En la segunda, tomando como punto de partida una clasificación específica de las competencias (ortoépica, ortográfica, fonológica, gramatical, léxico-semántica y discursiva) que se apoya más en el saber hacer que en el saber teórico de los pequeños alumnos, se dan unos consejos esenciales para diseñar sencillas unidades didácticas y se muestran actividades llevadas al aula de Educación Primaria a partir de la experiencia de varios años en numerosos grupos. En esta obra, pues, se fusiona una teoría lingüística actualizada con unas actividades contrastadas por la práctica docente.
El cambio de código en la conversación bilingüe
Este cuaderno es una introducción al estudio del cambio de código en la conversación bilingüe, entendido éste como la alternancia de lenguas por el mismo hablante en la misma conversación. En este libro los conceptos básicos (en qué consiste la alternancia y mezcla de lenguas, por qué se produce, qué motivos se esconden detrás de la elección de una determinada lengua en la conversación bilingüe, etc.) se explican de modo sencillo y asequible y se ilustran con ejemplos auténticos del inglés-español. Esperamos que este cuaderno pueda ser útil a cuantas personas se hallen interesadas por estas cuestiones, en especial a alumnos universitarios de grado y de posgrado, y a sus profesores que podrían emplearlo como guía. También nos gustaría que llegara a las manos de hablantes bilingües, hablantes en situaciones de lenguas en contacto y a sus familias. Por último, desearíamos despertar el interés del público en general, ya que la alternancia de lenguas tiende a considerarse como un fenómeno negativo cuando en realidad es todo lo contrario.
