The Book Of Women's Love
First published in 2005. The first part of this book is an historical study of the Hebrew written production on women's healthcare and of Jewish women's lives and experiences regarding the care of their bodies during the late Middle Ages in the Mediterranean West. The aim is to restore value to feminine knowledge and practices that were significant then and remain so today. The second part presents an edition translated into English with commentary of the Hebrew compilation Sefer Ahavat Nashim, the Book of Women's Love. This was compiled in the late Middle Ages and is preserved in a single manuscript from Catalonia-Provence. Its contents are concerned with magic, sexuality, cosmetics, and gynecology - areas of knowledge essentially, though not exclusively, related to women. The author focuses on the relation between women and health care and examines both women's knowledge and knowledge about women. This pioneering work makes a valuable contribution to the history of Jewish culture and Jewish women during the Middle Ages, and also makes a substantial contribution to the history of medicine.

This book examines the social, institutional and cultural setting of medical practices in the medieval town of Montpellier which boasted one of the first universities of the middle ages and a famous school of medicine. Some of its most celebrated masters and their medical works have been thoroughly studied but few of them try to put these in context with a thriving urban community of merchants and craftsmen that were at the core of the city council. Their concurrent efforts will endow Montpellier of a rich health care system featuring not only the university masters but also the city’s barber-surgeons and apothecaries. Mathematics for Human Flourishing in the Time of COVID-19 and Post COVID-19
The International Chair in Mathematical Physics and Applications (ICMPA - UNESCO chair), University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin, and the Center for Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Niš, CAM-FMEN, organized a webinar on Mathematics for human flourishing in the time of COVID-19 and post COVID-19, 21 October 2020, supported by the City of Niš. The objectives of the webinar were to give precise information about the work that scientists do to cure the disease, to push forward technology, to understand our society and create new expressions of humanity, and to question the role of mathematics in the responses to this pandemic.
Taxonomic Revision of Hennediella Paris (Pottiaceae, Bryophyta)
The moss genus Hennediella is taxonomically revised. A key, descriptions, illustrations, distribution data, LM and SEM photographs of the 15 species recognized are provided. A morphometric study of 226 specimens is carried out to test the most significant characters and a multivariate analysis is made for the Hennediella heimii group to distinguish patterns of morphological differentiation. Thirty-seven names are lectotypified and two epitypes designated. Hennediella serrulata and H. angustifolia are transferred to the genus Syntrichia. Desmatodon spelaeus, Hennediella oedipodioides, Pottia chubutensis and Syntrichia astoma are synonymyzed with H. heimii, and Pottia fusco-mucronata and Hennediella acutidentata with H. antarctica. Hennediella acletoi and T. leiostomoides are synonymyzed respectively with H. denticulata and H. longirostris. The sporophyte of Hennediella bellii is described for the first time. New records for various countries of the study area are reported.
