Dějiny umění jako disciplína procházejí v současnosti pozoruhodným obdobím, v němž jsou diskutovány tradiční i nové teoretické přístupy k vizuálnímu umění. Propedeutická příručka Metody dějin umění ve své první části probírá předměty disciplíny dějin umění, osobnost historika umění a základy technik dějin umění. Poté se zabývá hlavními osobnostmi historiků umění a hlavními proudy dějin umění ve druhé polovině 20. století se zaměřením na nejnovější trendy ve výkladu uměleckých a obrazových děl. Důležitou součástí publikace je pojednání o základních pojmech dějin umění (styl, struktura, téma-symbol, funkce-úloha a dějinnost) a přehled nejvýznamnějších přístupů uměleckohistorických, přístupů odlišných disciplín a aplikovaných přístupů v multidisciplinárních oborech. Svazek je určen především posluchačům dějin umění a navazuje na předchozí díl Školy dějin umění.
Secularization and the Working Class
Secularization and the Working Class brings together contributions from thirteen Central European historians who have taken a long-term interest in the issue of the secularization of modern society and social issues affecting the working class. By using contemporary historical methods they have researched the theoretical aspects of secularization theories as well as individual cases which illustrate Czech developments within the framework of the Austrian monarchy. These cases touch upon working conditions, working-class organizations and political parties, cultural life and means of communication. Among other things they present the conflicts that led to rifts within society. This representative collection of texts is will appeal to historians of modern history interested in the fascinating issues of European development, all those who are interested in the living conditions of the working class in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Elitenforschung in der Geschichte des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts
Der vorliegende Sammelband zur historischen Elitenforschung ist das Ergebnis eines internationalen Workshops, der im Frühjahr 2015 in Cluj-Napoca (Klausenburg) stattgefunden hat. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, inwieweit philosophische und soziologische Elite-Konzepte auf das Gebiet der historischen Forschung übertragen werden können und inwiefern die Quellenlage aus dem Gebiet der Sozialgeschichte vom 18. bis ins 20. Jahrhundert eine fundierte Erforschung historischer Eliten ermöglicht. Neben dem praktischen Erfahrungsaustausch über die Perspektiven und Grenzen der historischen Elitenforschung am Beispiel eigener Forschungen werden auch die Bemühungen der Geschichtswissenschaft thematisiert sich gegen andere Sozialwissenschaften, im Besonderen der Soziologie, zu öffnen und in einer Debatte über den Begriff der Elite in der historischen Entwicklung der Neuzeit zu engagieren. Damit können theoretische Konzepte aus vielen Feldern der Sozial- und Geisteswissenschaften mit empirischen Befunden aus historischen Quellen zu einer neuen interdisziplinären Symbiose verbunden werden.

Monografie Novináři ve stranické linii sleduje řízení regionálního tisku v ustavujícím období diktatury KSČ v Československu. Proces ustavování systému státní direktivy byl na poli mediální politiky KSČ narušován spory mezi centrem a regionem, mezi ambicemi vedení propagandy a tisku na ÚV KSČ a reálnými možnostmi nižšího stranického aparátu i regionálních novinářů. Mocenské centrum tak už v první polovině 50. let postupně rezignovalo na představu přímé dominance nad regionálními médii a muselo přistoupit k decentralizaci, což se neobešlo bez kompetenčních sporů. Systém řízení médií se postupně ustálil až mezi lety 1953 a 1956. Studie je rozdělena do kapitol sledujících vývoj vztahu centrálního aparátu KSČ a jeho krajských a okresních výborů a končí sondou do historie libereckého deníku Stráž severu uváděného jako konkrétní příklad, jak se regionální periodikum s procesem ustavování dominance KSČ vyrovnalo.
