Neutrosophic Logic to Navigate Uncertainty of Security Events in Mexico

A significant degree of uncertainty surrounds security events in Mexico because of the interaction of multiple socioeconomic and political elements. Conventional probabilistic and logical approaches frequently fall short of properly handling this uncertainty. To effectively navigate and manage security incidents in Mexico, this study suggests applying neutrosophic logic, an extension of classical logic that allows for indeterminacy and partial knowledge. Neutrosophic logic provides a more adaptable framework for making decisions in uncertain contexts by simultaneously handling true, false, and indeterminate values. In this study, we have created a neutrosophic-based model that includes metri...

Neutrosophic Sets and Systems, vol. 73/2024 {Proceedings of the “Mediterranean Conference on Three Decades of Neutrosophic and Plithogenic Theories and Applications” (MeCoNeT 2024)}

This volume contains the proceedings of the Mediterranean Conference on Neutrosophic Theory (MeCoNeT 2024), held at the Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti of the University of Messina on September 24-25, 2024. The event was organized by the MIFT Department (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Earth Sciences) of the University of Messina, marking the first international congress on neutrosophic theories outside the Americas. This milestone has firmly established the Mediterranean region as a key hub for research in the rapidly growing field of neutrosophic theory. The MeCoNeT 2024 conference drew over 100 participants from more than 15 countries, with more than 50 scientific contributions selected through a rigorous peer review process. The hybrid format of the event—featuring in-person sessions at the historical Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti and online parallel sessions—allowed for broad international participation. The conference thus offered an ideal platform for sharing interdisciplinary research and addressing contemporary challenges in mathematics and beyond.

Rediscover this deep, practical anatomy of the novel from 'the strongest ... literary critic we have' (New York Review of Books) in this new revised 10th anniversary edition. What do we mean when we say we 'know' a fictional character? What constitutes a 'telling' detail? When is a metaphor successful? Is realism realistic? Why do most endings of novels disappoint? In the tradition of E. M. Forster's Aspects of the Novel and Milan Kundera's The Art of the Novel, How Fiction Works is a study of the main elements of fiction, such as narrative, detail, characterization, dialogue, realism, and style. In his first full-length book of criticism, one of the most prominent critics of our time takes ...

That Frequent Visitor

Why are outsiders not allowed on Vypeen Island after sunset? What brought Richard Baxter from Calcutta to Kochi in 1948? Where did Baxter and his wife disappear on the night of Pournami? Who is the visitor that the fishermen fear so much? How far will one man go for the woman he loves? Six decades later, Shiuli Dutta is mysteriously lured into the dreaded Clifford Mansion, where she encounters the ghost of Richard Baxter. The grieving ghost tells her an incomplete story of its life. A story that will reveal the darker side of a man’s mind. A story that shall unveil a venomous truth of the past. A story so sinsiter that it shall alter the fate of a nation’s future. A story of courage and cowardice, of deceit and insanity. The story of THAT FREQUENT VISITOR

This book explores the Islamicate cultures that richly inform Bombay cinema. These cultures are imagined forms of the past and therefore a contested site of histories and identities. Yet they also form a culturally potent and aesthetically fertile reservoir of images and idioms through which Muslim communities are represented and represent themselves. Islamicate influences inform the language, poetry, music, ideas, and even the characteristic emotional responses elicited by Bombay cinema in general; however, the authors argue that it is in the three genre forms of The Muslim Historical. The Muslim Courtesan Film and The Muslim Social that these cultures are concentrated and distilled into pr...

Never has contemporary fiction been more widely discussed and passionately analysed; recent years have seen a huge growth in the number of reading groups and in the interest of a non-academic readership in the discussion of how novels work. Drawing on his weekly Guardian column, 'Elements of Fiction', John Mullan examines novels mostly of the last ten years, many of which have become firm favourites with reading groups. He reveals the rich resources of novelistic technique, setting recent fiction alongside classics of the past. Nick Hornby's adoption of a female narrator is compared to Daniel Defoe's; Ian McEwan's use of weather is set against Austen's and Hardy's; Carole Shield's chapter di...
