İslamcılık akımı, 19. yüzyıldaki ihya ve tecdit hareketlerinin bir parçası mıdır yoksa 2. Dünya Savaşı ile başlayan süreçte İslam devleti kurmak amacıyla ortaya çıkmış yeni bir ideoloji midir? Bu kitapta öncelikle yukarıdaki soruya cevap aramak, daha sonra İslamcılık ideolojisini tahlil etmek istiyoruz. Ancak kitapta ağırlıklı olarak Türkiye’deki iktidar partisinin din eksenli politikaları eleştirilmiştir. Böylece hem İslamcılığın teori ile pratiği arasındaki uyum hem de İslamcı ideolojinin uygulanabilirlik imkânı tartışılmaya çalışılmıştır. İslamcılık, kitlelerin kuvvetini arkasına alarak geleneksel ulemaya ve kurulu düzene başkaldırı hareketidir. Natural and social sciences seem very often to hedge their laws by ceteris paribus clauses - a practice which is philosophically very hard to understand because such clauses seem to render the laws trivial and unfalsifiable. This volume collects the most prominent philosophers of science in the field and presents a lively, controversial, but well-integrated, highly original discussion of the issue. It will be the reference book in the coming years concerning ceteris paribus laws.
Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss
In 1932 political philosopher Leo Strauss published a critical review of The Concept of the Political that earned him Schmitt's respect and initiated an extremely subtle interchange between Schmitt and Strauss regarding Schmitt's critique of liberalism. Although Schmitt never answered Strauss publicly, in the third edition of his book he changed key passages in response to Strauss's criticisms without ever acknowledging them.

Turkish Migration Conference 2016 - Programme and Abstracts Book
The Turkish Migration Conference 2016 is the fourth event in this series, we are proud to organise and host at the University of Vienna, Austria. Perhaps given the growing number of participants and variety in scope of research and debates included at the Conference, it is now an established quality venue fostering scholarship in Turkish Migration Studies. Over the last five years, we have seen over 1000 abstracts submitted to the conference and year on year the number of accepted presentations grew. This year, the conference accommodates over 350 presentations by hundreds of academics from all around the World. The Migration Conference attracting such a healthy number of academics is a good indicator of the success and means the conference serving its purpose and offer a good opportunity for scholarly exchange and networking. Main speakers include Jeffrey Cohen, Ibrahim Sirkeci, Philip Martin, Gudrun Biffl, Karen Phalet, Samim Akgönül, and Katharine Sarikakis.
