Several endocrine factors have an influential role in renal health. Recent evidence attributes novel roles to several endocrine mediators in renal biology, including growth hormone, thyroxine, and glucocorticoids. In recent times, researchers have demonstrated altered levels of these hormones elicit a decline in renal function by afflicting several cellular and molecular manifestations in specific renal cells.
