A Obra, Resíduos Sólidos: Um olhar plural sobre gestão, valorização e pesquisa, é uma coletânea de artigos produzidos, na sua maioria, por professores, alunos e servidores do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo – Ifes, e também por professores e pesquisadores convidados da Universidade Federais do Espírito Santo e de Minas Gerais (Ufes e UFMG), da Fundação Ezequiel Dias (Funed – MG) e Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais (CEFET – MG), da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e Centro Universitário Faesa, cujos trabalhos se alinham e contribuem para a geração de conhecimento sobre os resíduos sólidos no Brasil, em especial no Espírito Santo.
Sustainable Management of Wastes Through Co-processing
This book is the first comprehensive book in the world on co-processing of wastes as Alternative Fuels and Raw materials (AFRs) in cement kilns. It discusses how AFR from wastes can play an important role in contributing toward reducing the use of fossil fuel and costs while conserving natural resources, lowering global CO2 emissions, and reducing the need for landfills. Environmental Footprints of Recycled Products
Recycling is the need of the hour and it is an inevitable destination at the end of the life of any product. Today, recycling can happen at postindustrial and post-consumer states and the importance of recycled products in the market has gained significant importance. Recycled products dominate the array of sustainable products in today’s context. Even though there are commercial implications for recycling, one of the very important and obvious reasons to go for recycling and to have recycled products is to have the benefits on environmental sustainability. It is highly important to assess the environmental footprints of recycled products and further improve the environmental benefits of such recycled products. This book presents five interesting chapters pertaining to the environmental footprints of various recycled products.

Nesse estudo, procurou-se investigar a influência do aumento de carga orgânica em um ASBR operado a 30 graus celsius, agitado mecanicamente e contendo microrganismos imobilizados em suporte inerte. End-Of-life Management
Solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment has grown at unprecedented rates since the early 2000s. As the global PV market increases, so will the volume of decommissioned PV panels, and large amounts of annual waste are anticipated by the early 2030s. Growing PV panel waste presents a new environmental challenge, but also unprecedented opportunities to create value and pursue new economic avenues.This report, prepared jointly by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA-PVPS), is the first-ever projection of PV panel waste volumes to 2050. It highlights that recycling or repurposing solar PV panels at the end of their roughly 30-year lifetime can unlock an estimated stock of 78 million tonnes of raw materials and other valuable components globally by 2050. If fully injected back into the economy, the value of the recovered material could exceed USD 15 billion by 2050.
