Recycling of Electronic Waste II
Currently, recycling of e-waste can be broadly divided into three major steps: (a) disassembly: selectively disassembly, targeting on singling out hazardous or valuable components for special treatment, is an indispensable process in recycling of e-waste; (b) upgrading: using mechanical processing and/or metallurgical processing to up-grade desirable materials content, i.e. preparing materials for refining process, such as grinding the plastics into powders; (c) refining: in the last step, recovered materials are retreated or purified by using metallurgical processing so as to be acceptable for their original using. Four topical areas are planned including one special session on the recycling of batteries. Papers in the following topics will be welcomed: Mechanical recycling of E-Wastes Recycling of plastics from E-Wastes Recovery of metals from E-wastes Hydrometallurgical recycling (leaching) of E-Wastes Combustion or pyrolysis of E-Wastes Life cycle and economic analysis for the recycling of E-Wastes

REWAS 2013
This volume compiles topics from the REWAS 2013 symposium at the TMS Annual Meeting, focusing on different aspects of sustainability. It discusses how to realize sustainability in such areas as transportation, the built environment, electrical and electronic equipment and infrastructure, energy production, and water systems. Enabling sustainability topics include the use of metals and materials processing, recycling and recovery, as well as process design and modeling. A Obra, Resíduos Sólidos: Um olhar plural sobre gestão, valorização e pesquisa, é uma coletânea de artigos produzidos, na sua maioria, por professores, alunos e servidores do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo – Ifes, e também por professores e pesquisadores convidados da Universidade Federais do Espírito Santo e de Minas Gerais (Ufes e UFMG), da Fundação Ezequiel Dias (Funed – MG) e Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais (CEFET – MG), da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e Centro Universitário Faesa, cujos trabalhos se alinham e contribuem para a geração de conhecimento sobre os resíduos sólidos no Brasil, em especial no Espírito Santo.

End-Of-life Management
Solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment has grown at unprecedented rates since the early 2000s. As the global PV market increases, so will the volume of decommissioned PV panels, and large amounts of annual waste are anticipated by the early 2030s. Growing PV panel waste presents a new environmental challenge, but also unprecedented opportunities to create value and pursue new economic avenues.This report, prepared jointly by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA-PVPS), is the first-ever projection of PV panel waste volumes to 2050. It highlights that recycling or repurposing solar PV panels at the end of their roughly 30-year lifetime can unlock an estimated stock of 78 million tonnes of raw materials and other valuable components globally by 2050. If fully injected back into the economy, the value of the recovered material could exceed USD 15 billion by 2050.

150 Years of the Periodic Table
This book provides an overview of the origins and evolution of the periodic system from its prehistory to the latest synthetic elements and possible future additions. The periodic system of the elements first emerged as a comprehensive classificatory and predictive tool for chemistry during the 1860s. Its subsequent embodiment in various versions has made it one of the most recognizable icons of science. Based primarily on a symposium titled “150 Years of the Periodic Table” and held at the August 2019 national meeting of the American Chemical Society, this book describes the origins of the periodic law, developments that led to its acceptance, chemical families that the system struggled to accommodate, extension of the periodic system to include synthetic elements, and various cultural aspects of the system that were celebrated during the International Year of the Periodic Table.
