The Atlas of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Differential Diagnosis is a complete course through the most important sexual diseases. Counting with about 1000 figures, this atlas focuses on the peculiar characteristics of each of these diseases and in the relevant aspects for a proper differential diagnosis. It is authored by MDs with a deep knowledge in the field, providing a very comprehensive casuistry. Throughout the book the reader will have access to hundreds of pictures discussing about the most important sexually transmitted diseases. O tema surgiu, por um lado, como uma forma de marcar os 50 anos do surgimento da teoria, mostrando o legado de Michel Pêcheux, sua atualidade e seu papel na consolidação da AD no Brasil, e, por outro, como uma maneira de indicar que a noção de condições de produção tem um lugar de centralidade nos estudos discursivos, mediante a qual podem ser percebidas as relações de forças que constituem toda e qualquer prática discursiva.
The Atlantic Forest
The Atlantic Forest is one of the 36 hotspots for biodiversity conservation worldwide. It is a unique, large biome (more than 3000 km in latitude; 2500 in longitude), marked by high biodiversity, high degree of endemic species and, at the same time, extremely threatened. Approximately 70% of the Brazilian population lives in the area of this biome, which makes the conflict between biodiversity conservation and the sustainability of the human population a relevant issue. This book aims to cover: 1) the historical characterization and geographic variation of the biome; 2) the distribution of the diversity of some relevant taxa; 3) the main threats to biodiversity, and 4) possible opportunities to ensure the biodiversity conservation, and the economic and social sustainability. Also, it is hoped that this book can be useful for those involved in the development of public policies aimed at the conservation of this important global biome.
