L’objectif principal du livre L’Amérique du Nord : une histoire des identités et des solidarités est d’explorer l’histoire transnationale des trois partenaires nord-américains au cours des XIXe, XXe et XXIe siècles. Les réflexions proposées dans cet ouvrage permettent de voir que, si l’intégration s’avère fragile sur certains terrains, elle laisse entrevoir également des liens nord-américains beaucoup plus durables, ainsi que des contacts plutôt surprenants entre les deux voisins périphériques de l’Amérique du Nord. De la définition du territoire aux mouvements de solidarité, des migrations touristiques et culturelles au défi posé par des concurrents commerciaux, ce livre rebrasse notre compréhension du processus d’intégration de l’Amérique du Nord.
