Frank documents the collaborative project of staging Stein’s early plays and offers new critical interpretations of these lesser-known works. Radio Free Stein grapples with her innovative theater poetics from a variety of disciplinary perspectives: sound and media studies, affect and object relations theory, linguistic performativity, theater scholarship, and music composition.

A multitude of ideas about individual and distributed agency circulated in Scandinavian culture during the 1960s, a period often designated as the early information age. Through an analysis of six novels, this dissertation discusses how prose fiction in and around the 1960s in Norway, Sweden and Denmark responded and contributed to this circulation of ideas of agency. 30 Jahre nachdem Félix Guattari den Begriff des Postmassenmedialen als notwendige Bedingung medialer Teilhabe eingeführt hat, wirkt er weiterhin in den Arbeiten nachfolgender Generationen nach. Dass ein Konzept, das auf politisches Geschehen und technische Entwicklungen bis hin zur Zäsur von 1989 reagiert, noch heute den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs beschäftigt, ist jedoch nicht selbstverständlich. Diese Ausgabe der AugenBlick, die im Umfeld der DFG-Forscher:innengruppe Mediale Teilhabe entstanden ist, unterstreicht die Notwendigkeit, aufmerksam die sich wandelnden Formen politischer und künstlerischer Partizipation im sogenannten "postmedialen Zeitalter" zu betrachten. How are platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok helping to popularize performed poetry, and what online formats are emerging? The Danish Avant-Garde and World War II
This is the first book to focus on Helhesten (The Hell-Horse), an avant-garde artists’ collective active during the Nazi occupation of Denmark and one of the few tangible connections between radical European art groups from the 1920s to the 1960s. The Danes’ deliberately unskilled painterly abstraction, embrace of the tradition of dansk folkelighed (the popular) and its iterations of egalitarianism and consensus reform, called for the political relevance of art and interrogated the ideologies underlying culture itself. The group’s cultural activism presents an alternative trajectory of continuity, which challenges the customary view of World War II as a moment of artistic rupture.
